I thought it was cute when people started getting Amazon + food deliverys then yall never stopped and I don't even know what your ordering at this point it's literally constant bullshit
And I thought I was cute ordering only stuff l wanted for free by the free mail post that I'd have to go to the box or post office for
And no that's not enough where gonna blow it all up for treats?
Edit: the anger is the at the Canadian court decision to send Canada Post back to work till May completely fucking insulting, they wanna make sure every new post employee is a contract not boind by anything much like they did with GM and now y'all can't buy a demestoc car and even if you could you'd bitch about the price from a union shop
I'm so tired of bad private service at twice the cost for reasons that aren't paying labour involved
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.
A lot of Canadians who live in rural areas are literally only serviced directly by Canada Post - Amazon might deliver something to roughly your area but it would dump the package with Canada Post to complete the last mile delivery - same for UPS/DHL/etc.
So what Canada Post is trying to do is what GM and the other auto makers did after 2008 to destroy and remove the unions as does every other corporation to increase profits
All new hires are on temporary contracts that don't replace union jobs but just do them with no benefits at 1/3rd the pay and the union wants that made illegal cause it ultimately ends up with what happened to one of the literal best automobile assembly plants in the country is the close it to move production or force workers to accept a lower wage so they can not invest in anything
It's just infuriating
And then the court extended the contract until May
sounds like it wasn't a court decision, was just the minister of labor telling the canadian equivalent of the labor relations board "fuck them, strike forbidden until may when they have no leverage anymore" and apparently that's all it takes. The union will be fighting it in court, I don't know enough to say if that has any odds of succeeding.

Say what you will about the French, but they know how to hold an effective public protest.
History has proven this several times over.

There are plenty of countries who can hold a grudge against or swear revenge on or rain vast destruction down upon their foreign enemies, but nobody does bone-deep soul-scorching domestic contempt like the French.
I understood the French joke I've just been made insane by the suggestion the there will be a study for high-speed rail from Montreal to like Windsor but instead Doug Ford wants to build a tunnel under the 401 which is the busiest highway in the world that the 407 didn't relieve so your going to build more road?
I don't drive to Toronto I take the go train, hell I'd work at a grocery store on Bloor if i'd I get there in a hour
Oh wow I also forgot in the op to mention how trump wants to nationalize the USPS which runs at a deficit because of a insane funding restriction
But what they're most mad about is the legal requirement (and same thing with Canada post for assholes who want it privatized
) to deliver all mail to every address with no tampering
A shocking number of libs are like "let them and watch the hicks burn" which is par for the course of libs abandoning the working class
Some of the working class voted for trump, so we're all doomed and dead to the libs? That doesn't seem like a good way to win the next election, assuming we have one
We rarely drive in now, train probably 90% of the time and the kiddo loves it.
Only about an hour and twenty min coming from Barrie. if I want to drive to Union it would be more.
Wait what train are you taking from Barrie cause that's a 5 hour drive and if it's via rail I'm sorry at the cost
Oh sorry I meant just into Toronto, was just commenting in general how bad the highways are. I was talking Barrie into Toronto.
It’s just easier to train and would enjoy a high speed train out Quebec way but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
If all goes well we'll probably see HSR within a decade
It'd take about 5 years to design the system plus the time of implementation
I have more optimism but that's driven by how high freq rail was the option of choice for the last while, so going right to HSR is great! There's been actual movement towards hiring teams up for this too, so I've got hope

to libs being rural means living in a suburb outside of a city
vs actual rurality like in Appalachia or one of the many tribal communities where folks are barely able to afford to keep their ancestral home and are lucky if they have either power or running water.

i think a part of it is just people are very emotionally raw and are going to “well fuck em” as a coping mechanism. not healthy or helpful but i get it.
but also we aren’t going to have any more fair elections so it doesn’t really matter either way.
why would they, it’s easier to fundraise when trump is the god emperor anyway, and american parties are just what happens when consultants metastasize. winning elections and doing things is for chumps.

libs have been telling rural communities to go fuck themselves for decades, it's more than just an overreaction to this election. in fact that's a big part of why Republicans win those communities so consistently!
also worth pointing out we've never actually had especially fair elections in this country in the first place, so while Trump may very well find a new way to tip the scales let's none of us pretend that would be anything new
I think Kamala running a campaign the DNC would fucking riot over could win, and could have won this time. Even I am wondering why the fuck they are doing this. There are better candidates and better campaigners. AOC is a much better option right there.

It's not AoCs "turn". Turn order is very important to the old gits because if they were rated for electability based on policy and campaigning they'd all be disqualified

Bezos is still basically in charge
