    One time at my local football club, the game was boring, but a couple seagulls were hanging out in front of the fan section.

    So the fan club started chanting "Seagull! Seagull!".
    It was an entertaining diversion from the sport.


    The next week, a couple pigeons flew past. Someone re-started the "Seagull!" chant, and a new cultural meme was invented.


    Now, any flying creature/object may be subjected to a "Seagull! Seagull!" chant.

    Helicopters. Drones. Plastic bags on windy days.
    The stadium is not to far from the trans-Tasman landing path, so the occasional Airbus or Boeing - "Seagull! Seagull!"

    I don't know if you've ever heard a couple thousand drunk football fans chanting "Seagull" in unison, but it sure is a thing.
