Never liked consuming his work, I'm someone that just doesn't get his stuff, but it's consistent enough and well loved enough for me to recognize that's a me thing.
This is sad news.
No I don't.

Not a big Lynch head, though I liked Twin Peaks. But everything I've read or heard of him personally, like interviews and stuff, has been amazing. I loved him just for that.

It's strange how hard this is hitting me as a person who only really knows/likes one Lynch movie. Not that I've bounced off his work or anything, I just haven't seen a whole lot of it. I know I'm probably going to find things I like if I keep watching, just haven't gotten around to it.
And now it's... it's like a different class of product in my head, the work of a great (dead) as opposed to the work of a great (alive). That shouldn't make a difference, it's not like he needs to be alive for me to see his movies, it's not like I was going to meet him in person if only I'd finally watched Inland Empire or whatever.

Who will I go to for weather reports now!?
Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.
Real talk: I think after twin peaks (the whole thing, start to finish), Inland Empire might be my favorite Lynch production
After that is Dune
And after that is Mulholland Drive, which is a fantastic message about the toxicity and destructive nature of Hollywood in a way that feels more and more relevant than even at the start of the century

While I wouldn’t rank Dune as high, I otherwise agree. Inland Empire always felt super underrated

Blue Velvet. Liked it a bunch. I've also watched like a season and a half of Twin Peaks, which was fine but like... I mean there's a reason I only watched a season and a half, clearly it wasn't connecting with me.

This scene is all sorts of EWWWW but man do the lines "YOU ARE WITNESSING A FRONT THREE-QUARTER VIEW OF TWO ADULTS SHARING A TENDER MOMENT" and "TAKE A LOOK, SONNIE, IT'S GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN!!!" make me laugh hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPXC9c2HfA0
This is a rough one, especially after blank check just finished their series on his stuff and they’re both like “hopefully even though he can’t get around much he will find a way to make something”

Age restriction?
A rare celebrity death that brought me to tears
He’s been such a huge inspiration to me
Such an ugly world to live in
