You can go ahead and put a lot of emphasis on that 'really'.

the forced story sections in genshin really are kinda nuts sometimes.. no warning and suddenly you're in for a half-hour+ of solid cutscenes even with mashing the dialogue button.
it doesn't make much sense, considering how skippable all the dialogue is in Honkai.

Blue Archive has the perfect Skip Button - it gives you a 20-50 word recap on what's going on before the skip happens. So you can hit the button, see if you really want to read through all of whatever's going to happen and if it does look boring, skip. If something actually interesting is going to happen, don't skip. It's just so good.

ETA: Before the current "all the playable characters turn out everywhere all the time" -phase, it was useless and forgettable NPCs blathering endlessly. So even though they still blather, the current situation is an improvement.

The more I play the more I hate this World Level system. I'm just cruising along and all of a sudden even trash mobs are too hard to beat.

I wish world level was only affected by story progress.

And since we're on story progres sth4ese freakin' events require WAY too much story completed to take part in. I was grinding story shit all weekend, boring as hell, hammering the A button wishing for a skip cutscene button and I'm still not anywhere near the current event quest.

World level increases when I wasn’t ready is ultimately why I took a break the first time.

For events… use the quick start button. I haven’t found them to be overly jarring when it’sa character I haven’t met yet.

Also, don’t pull when tired… I was going to do some more pulls on the weapon banner last night and saw Hu Tao and was like, yea, Staff of Homa is her weapon.

It’s fine since I didn’t end up with a 5* so I’m even closer to pity and it was a crappy pull anyways.

i've subscribed to dropout as a result of this thread. The ads on youtube were tolerable but the bleeping wasn't. I got a little sad today when I found out there are only two seasons of fantasy high because in the talkback episodes they were talking about season 5 and season 7 and shit

but eventually when i found some info not on cursed fandom, i figured out they've been releasing steady content it's just not all in that setting

Some of it is though! The Seven is about the seven maidens from the first season and Pirates of Leviathan is set on Leviathan, also set in the world of Spire.

I really hope they do a Junior year but I'm not sure if they will.

it sure sounds like scheduling and cash is a big headwind!

There isn't one. They're literally locked out until you get certain story quests done AND have an specific adventure level

Just some clarity on this; there's a minimum requirement of completing the archon quest "Ritou Escape Plan" (and AR30, for whatever reason). In this case, it makes complete sense that this is a requirement; the events would be nonsensical if you haven't completed that quest. If you've completed that, then there's a Quick Start option, until you've completed another quest.

it's AR 40 actually which is ANOTHER part of my complaint!

also events being nonsense is really not a problem

I mean, the entire story about Inazuma is that it is inaccessible. You can't get there without completing story (barring shenanigans), and then you can't leave Ritou without completing more story. So, it really is a completely necessary prerequisite. THAT SAID, you can totally argue that designing an area like that in and of itself was a bad idea, which I will agree with. Thankfully Sumeru doesn't have that problem, and you can just stroll over there whenever you want.

A few different sites are telling me that the requirement is AR30. If it's not letting you until 40, that sucks! Sorry to hear that.

i meant it's not a problem for me, i couldn't give a tit about the story or it needing to make sense with the events. i don't see a reason for locking events behind story beats at all personally it just seems to keep a lot of people from being able to do them

and now one of the quests i have to do is one of those weird relationship quests that you earn keys for, THAT'S the thing locked behind AR 40. i can't do any of those at all, the least of which is the required one. I finished the Ritou Escape Sat and spent the rest of that day and most of Sunday trying to get the rest done.

Huh, and you really don't have the quick start option? I'm seeing this on the wiki page for the event:

"If the player has not completed Raiden Shogun's Story Quest: "Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act II" during the event, they can enter the event through "Quick Start" in the event page."

Everything I'm seeing shows that you should be able to start the event already.

And bicycles don't really belong on a road with cars flying by at 50mph either. But we work with what we've got and allow them there. I'm sure we all agree that we need better infrastructure for these sorts of things. But I think it's ok to allow them and try to teach people how to bike safely and considerately.

    Inazuma (Electro)
    Sumeru (Dendro)

I think we have Fontaine (Hydro) next, then Pyro-Land, and finally Cryo.

There's no Macguffin we're collecting in the countries we visit.

    Post Liyue story spoilers
Originally the idea was to visit each of the countries to talk to their gods, the Archons, to find out if they either knew about the Unknown God that wrecked you in the opening sequence or knew the whereabouts of your sibling.

But now after meeting your sibling briefly in the Abyss, your new goal is to take the journey they did and learn more about the world to decide for yourself what you believe about its history and what you'll do next when you learn that history. Because the sibling did just that and chose to ally with the Abyss, and they believe when you learn what they saw you'll join them. So we're still going to all the countries looking for the Archons, but with the goal of getting that information from them.

People commute on regular bicycles every day alongside cars. To say ebikes can't do it is patently false. Is grade separated more ideal - 100% absolutely no contest, but you can't argue that someone with a big motor capable of nearly 30mph is less suited to mixing with cars than people on pure leg power.

Except commuting by bike right now is anything but perfectly safe. You make a big deal of the bikes speed, but don't seem to advocate a speed limit on the trail. I have had bikes blow right past me on my ebike like I am standing still. If bikes going that fast is a problem then we need a better solution than just chucking out one class.

There are actually speed limits on a lot of bike paths.

It's partially why I think the max capable speed isn't the most important factor in deciding who should be let on a bike path. After all on a road, the max possible speed of cars is well over 100mph for pretty much all of them, but people stay closer to the speed limits.

Because to go 28 on a bike path without a hill with any consistency on a road bike, you need to be a serious athlete, which means you likely have solid bike handlings skills and reactions. The person on an ebike can do it their first ride. People ripping on bike paths should still be ticketed but it's very different when it's 1/100 being a Strava asshole vs a much larger percent.
I have commuted on bike before. Primarily work from home now, so no need, but agree the experience sucks. That said, the solution to bikes having a bad time is not endangering pedestrians as sidewalks and mixed paths are supposed to be safe zones.
I'm of the personal opinion of chucking all e-bikes off paths but recognize that's overreacting. Class 3 and above are where the biggest changes start to occur with power, size and weight, but I'm very open to other thoughts that may be more up to date as I don't really road bike much with a trail system next door.

You can have all the bike handling skills you want. Someone on foot doing something stupid next to you is going to be well beyond your control. It is why here you can't ride a bike on the sidewalk at all. Mixing those two types of traffic is dangerous. I don't think it is inherently more dangerous to have another method to create the same problem. Does it bring it to a head sooner? Likely, but that is just a matter of when and not if.

For what it is worth, class 3 are the fastest that are recognized by bikes. The industry itself is pushing to keep that as the cap. They also cannot instant accelerate like you claim. If they can they are not class 3. The only class of ebike that has throttle is 2 which is capped at 20mph. The throttle does get you going quick, but pedal assist builds up. You gotta actually put some effort into it. I got a class 2 when I was looking specifically because of the realities of my disability. It really feels like the class 3 ebike you have a clear picture of in your mind is one everyone has already decided shouldn't be around. The one that does works different.

Edit: I will say in terms of safety as well that at least here cars and bikes all constantly try to force collisions with each other. Ony my bike I will have people pull out in front of me with zero notice, open the car doors into the bike path, run me off the road, and at least once threaten me for being in the street while stopped at a red light. Bikes will just blow through red lights, zip through cross roads, and get pissed at me for not stopping at an intersection where they have stop signs. Mixing the traffic is a bad idea because people are inherently bad at moving as fast as these vehicles let us move. Anything that gets bikes and cars off the same paths is a good idea. The current plan can only lead to a lot of people getting killed by someone only half paying attention.

We've got a 100 pound electric long john and getting it up to the speed cap of 25km/h takes like a few seconds and after the first half turn of the pedal also no effort if you switch to the highest assist level. And that one doesn't even have the most powerful motor available.

Mind you that assist level also cuts the average range from like 50-60 miles down to 20-30.

Same, I actually did it relatively early this time around. That map was a pain in the ass but at least I managed to work out a solution to all the challenges (some of which basically turned everyone into tissue paper). Random side note - will always hate the stupid map that uses the white/black mechanic that shows up in rotation now. Bleh. Most other CC maps I can basically deal with based on a rough memory of where to put stuff and the fact that I'm not going for risk 18 anymore, but that one is always a huge PITA because of those stupid exploding things.

And yeah, I've been *kinda* trying to upgrade everyone but I feel like I'm always money starved in this game. Everything is stupidly expensive. Instead I try to at least get the 6*s and hopefully 5*s upgraded to e2 when they come out to stay on top of it. But there's a bunch that I just haven't had time for.

Honestly I really wanna work on more modules too but I'm always so busy. I swear every time I log in I notice a new operator with that little module square that I could try to go for. I'd at least like to get modules for the operators I actually use really frequently (I finally got Saria's... still need Bagpipe's and some others)
