probably beidou. overload and superconduct aren't all that great of reactions. ideally ning wants another geo for resonance + a 4pc Archaic Petra set.

Temper your expectation. I’m still under level 70 on every of my gushies.

I guess that depends on how you use her. My Ning was often on field for long periods of time against flying opponents for example which would make the 4pc bonus useless. I think she has +15% geo and +18% atk, two 2pc set bonuses. Many of the dps 4pc bonuses aren't massive dps increases, especially if the bonus isn't a great fit for that particular character. Going 2x 2pc can be better.

Was looking at the different artifact sets and now I'm curious whether Echoes on an Offering set would work for her (or Yanfei). She needs to fire off normal attacks a bunch in her rotation after all.

Maybe but Echoes has a twofold problem. First is that it's heavily reliant on your ping for procs to the point that if you don't consistently have under 100 you shouldn't touch it, and second is that it shares a drop table with Vermilion which is a set that is only good for Xiao making it highly resin inefficient. You can't Strongbox either of the two to boot.

Looking at a Google docs spreadsheet put out by Keqing Mains, a group of theorycrafters, these are the best sets for a DPS Ningguang

    1. Archaic Petra 2 pc (only from Strongbox) and Noblesse Oblige 2 pc OR Emblem of Severed Fate 2 pc OR +18% Attack set 2 pc
    2. Thundersoother 4 pc IF Electro will always be present on the enemy OR Lavawalker 4 pc IF Pyro will always be present on the enemy.

This is what I'm using https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/1gNxZ2xab1J6o1TuNVWMeLOZ7TPOqrsf3SshP5DLvKzI/htmlview?pru=AAABd4N-fLk*X-bMgWoyQtpHPIS7FN1hTQ# . Really useful spreadsheet, breaks down what works and more importantly why, with various reasons that break from the standard *just get this set" advice. Also does the same for weapons.

D20 is doing a 20% off promo for annual subscriptions, brings it down to $48. Code is "Payusless". Sam has a video on it. If you have an annual subscription already, use the code and it'll apply the discount to your next renewal.

    Finished A Crown of Candy.
I think it lost a little steam after Jet's death, as combat thereafter seemed far less lethal and the characters far more capable of just shutting down threats, but still: very good indeed. Not sure the final battle mechanics worked to benefit the story rather than slow things down a little, but I can see what he was going for.

Sort of. I haven't made any characters mechanically, but I have thought about what kind of character I'd play in some of those worlds. Though I've only come up with:

Fantasy High: Bard band kid (I was a band kid in HS) or a politically active teenage Paladin (I like the idea of a protest sign board as a shield).
Neverafter: The Pauper from Prince and the Pauper, with an added flavor of Man in the Iron Mask. Basically, the Prince imprisoned the Pauper and now the Pauper is after revenge. No idea on class, Hexblade Warlock or a Blood Hunter might be cool.

On the other hand, we got the expression on Brennan's face when he realized he'd perfectly positioned half the enemies in an encounter to get blown out by a single cast of Lightning Bolt.

There's a few bosses that I really don't like, but I dunno what they were thinking with Azhdaha. It's just a brutal combination of lots of HP, invulnerability, and cutscenes. A complete waste of time. And it's also got massive attacks that are extremely awkward to try and avoid, which damn near necessitates a shielder on the team. I avoided it like a passion for a very long time at first, until I had the tools to completely trivialize the fight (Zhongli and a team with high enough single-target DPS to repeatedly move him to the next phase. In my case, Hu Tao).

Any shield will work to avoid the dot, and you can i-frame through almost all of his attacks. I get the cutscenes bit though.

Eventually you get to the point that you can just melt him in seconds, but getting there takes practice and building up characters. I do enjoy that you can change up your team to get around his affinities each week, or you can just ungabunga a bit harder.

    Also the music slaps.

Azdaha always felt like there’s a team within Mihoyo constantly fighting to push the game towards an MMO/Multiplayer space, and Azdaha was their big pitch of “hey, look, we can do big dramatic multi-stage bossfights that incentivize co-op and coordination!”

And then people kept filling out the surveys with “coop sucks”.

I did think of that one. They're similar in that they both have a lot of HP and have attacks that are difficult to avoid without a shield. The primo doesn't have any invulnerability, though (outside of the beginning when it is getting up), so it becomes much more enjoyable when you get stronger teams and can just wipe the floor with it.

Ohh yeah, that one's annoying. The good side is it doesn't matter what kind of shield you have when you get to that phase where he's charging his bullshit. A level 1 Diona shield will reflect the damage back at him.

The high lethality of Crown of Candy was always going to run into high level D&D bullshit, especially with people as experienced at playing D&D as they were.

Also, Brennan is an extremely good storyteller as a DM, but if I was going to identify any flaws with his skillset, it's that as good as he is at coming up with cool setpieces for his D&D fights, I think he fucks up the math on them a bit. There's a fight in Fantasy High s2 where he just gets extremely bogged down in how much he's thrown on the table, and it's one of the few fights that's not edited so you can tell. That's not a huge knock on him, mostly because he's very good at adjusting on the fly and letting players improvise in fun ways.

For fantasy high, I came up with a Changeling sorcerer everyone assumes is a theater kid but they aren't.

I'm almost tempted to say good ol' fashioned period sexism.

    "Can I be a knight?"
"Hahaha, maybe. Go make me a sandwich first and then clean up around here."

But that's not all that accurate, since you've got Jean, Eula, Amber and even Klee, all as either knights or officially in the order. In fact I think the only main character that is male and in the order is Kaeya, and maybe Albedo if he counts.

Noelle isn't a knight because she is way too reckless and sacrificing, which has nearly killed her in the past like when she decided to mount a one person rescue on Dragonspine without appropriate preparation.

Her strength isn't in question at all, but a knight that is constantly flinging themselves into danger regardless of their own well-being is just a liability and Jean knows it.

NWR has a video review of the Switch version of Grim Guardians, basically its good, 8/10. Main ding is that you will have to revisit most of the old areas for the full ending, but there are alternate paths accessible with your new abilities and the bosses get some upgrades to make that more bearable. And while it leans heavy on curse of the moon, it sounds like this game is quite a bit easier with the out of being able to revive your partner to conserve lives. Good for people that got frustrated with CotM/2, but if you instead want more challenge, you'll have to beat the game first to unlock hard.

Are you guys 100% sure? I remember the way to the boss opening after I had done a fairly long quest, waaaaaaaay waaaaaaay after I got the chasm light thingy. It was several days of half-assed exploring and stuff, I'm pretty certain.

There's a boss at the end of the story quest but I'm pretty sure the repeatable boss isn't blocked off by anything. I only went looking after finishing the story quest though, but it was on my map before then.
