I wish I liked bullet-hell shooters more. I love a good shmup but I do not have the quickness of perception+reflexes necessary to be any good at them.
I'd imagine Matt's up for the challenge. What made Crown of Candy so dangerous is that Brennan would actively choose to kill downed characters, and set character creation up so that there were fewer opportunities for healing, and virtually none for resurrections. The players all having backup characters also helped a lot, because knowing that a player could come back shortly takes some of the pressure off of "we can't have this person away from the table that long."
Matt's been...less merciful in the current campaign of Critical Role, and it's not like he routinely pulled punches before. Here's a brief rundown of what he's done so far:
Feels pretty likely that he's up for the challenge of killing PCs and/or putting them in situations like we saw in Crown of Candy. If there was anything to suggest it might not be as high lethality as the original Crown of Candy, however, it'd be that there are only six episodes, and if a character were to die, it'd be harder to bring the player back with a new character. Or, you know, they might just run with a small table!
He really MAF'd it, I guess
I'm not even sure why he was playing in the first place. Seems an odd choice.
So it's still kinda weird to do.
NCAA changed this rule about 8 years ago. Rarely matters.
For goals scored in seattle

Edit: after reading my post, it almost looked like a haiku. So now it is one?
