Part of that is the flat cap and the likelyhood that in a couple seasons it'll take a big jump, meaning more money for players. But I do think that part of it is some teams are really starting to figure out that 7 year contracts for 28-32 year old's might not be the best idea all of the time.
Gunmen of the apocalypse is a close second for me.
"Only Joking."
"I lied twice."
I'd argue 3 through 6 is basically great episode after episode, probably through to season 7 ep 2. 6 probably hits that sweet spot where the visuals improve drastically.
"So it's decided then....we boot up Holy"
Quick let's get outta here before they bring him back.
… I know that’s not from the episode range we’re talking about, I just wanted to be part of the thing.
Oh man, Rimmerworld was great.
"Either Mister Rimmer had the incredible good fortune to land on an inhabited planet, or..."
"Or what?"
"It's too hideous to even contemplate."
(My wife, having quickly finished that first beer so I could bring her one more before the seventh inning stretch): "Well...I guess that's America's ass tonight"

Well joke's on her then- we just filled both fridges for 4th feasting, paid off the summer's swim lessons, and went to a surprise ball game- those accounts are tapped until Friday, she groped me for nothing
"We're a real Mickey Mouse operation aren't we."
"Mickey Mouse?! We ain't even Betty Boop!"
"Three Listers?! Maybe Lister would like to have some champagne with Lister and Lister! Rimmer here doesn't drink because he's dead, but I wouldn't mind a glass!"
"I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I'm the double double Rimmer. I'm the Rimmer who's with the Lister who married Kochanski. Now from here on out, things get a little bit confusing."
If he's you and you're him, and you're him and he's him... am I still me? Who's eatin' this chicken?
Just want to come back to this to say this was one of the best moments of planting and payoff in the show.
I mean the whole goddamn scene is bursting. From Cat playing with the chicken, to the visual gag of him feigning to bolt up, and of course...
"What's more important, the man's life or your smegging lunch?"
"That doesn't even deserve an answer."
Character development is a funny thing to see though. It's kind of jarring to remember Cat was this aloof and uncaring. In later seasons he would have genuinely ditched his lunch to help Lister.
Instantly recognised the scene from the thumbnail.
And yes, you're right.

They had the tapes in the section of the hold that was sealed off
It's why the cats speak English
Also I can't find my copy of the novelisation and I'm annoyed
