The whole episode where Lister meets the dying cat priest was also great and sad.

in case someone on here hasn't read them I'd highly recommend getting the audio books. Chris Barrie does a perfect impersonation of the whole cast.

Chris Barrie was - and I presume still is even now - a terrific impressionist, and did a lot of voices on the original incarnation of Spitting Image. He also voices Ronald Reagan on Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Two Tribes" (the extended Annihilation mix from the 12" single is a masterpiece).

I remember enjoying it way more in Early Access before they rebalanced the game to make it (feel, at least to me) way harder. But that wouldn't be the first game that basically listened to the hardcore EA crowd and made their game less fun (Darkest Dungeon, looking at you)

I just checked to see if he was involved with the recent Spitting Image revival series at all. Sadly he wasn't in that but I was surprised to see Billy West, John DiMaggio and Phil Lamar were a part of the cast.

Audible has the first two books both narrated by Chris Barrie. Did you know he's a talented voice actor as well?

This probably means diddly squat. But if and when you start watching a metric ton of British TV, especially the bazillion and one panel shows they spit out, you start to notice and recognize the pool of talent. And it's pretty much just a who's who of UK light entertainment celebrities all bouncing around from one show to another. I always found it a bit odd that you pretty much never see any of the Red Dwarf cast doing any of it. Like hell, so many panel show appearances practically read as "We need some people, who the fuck is in the building right now?". Harry Shearer showed up on Would I Lie to You. The fuckin' lead singer of Slipknot was on QI, how that happened who the hell knows. I dunno, like I said it probably means nothing. Just that if you were to go by that metric, you'd be kind of forgiven to think that all the crew from Red Dwarf just... faded away.

Well Craig Charles did Robot Wars for a while. Robert did some kind of a engineering show.

    Acting pays really well.

Chris Barrie got some movie money from Tomb Raider.

I'm not even a Slipknot fan and I think that's awesome. Corey Taylor is a smart dude and a good dude, I bet that was a good episode... I should hunt that one down.

Reminds me of some of the folks who'd turn up on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, obviously a lot more musicians on there... Dani Filth (lead singer of Cradle of Filth)'s appearance was a particularly memorable one as everyone took the mick out of him but he took it all with good humour and gave as good as he got. Phill Jupitus: "He's got the soil of his homeland on his chair!" Dani Filth: "Yeah, Suffolk." I met Dani once, he too was and is a good dude, very accomodating and happy to have a chat.

But we're getting into [Hesher] thread territory now so I'll leave it there!

    Works for me!

Sounds like when Sebastian Vettel (now-former, then-current F1 driver & 4-time world champion) showed up on BBC Question Time. That was downright bizarre, but it goes without saying that he was great and knocked all the politicians of various stripes who were also on the panel into a cocked hat.

Having recently started rewatching the whole thing with the wife, the one which she picked up that I never would have spotted is that Olaf Petersen is also Arthur Weasley.

I threw a couple ten pulls at the weapon banner before it went away yesterday and ended up pulling Kazuha's sword which is great!

I originally wrote a long response that was in danger of becoming a half remembered history of British Comedy from 1986 to 2023.

The short answer is a lot of the comedians/personalities appearing on modern panel game shows all have contracts with the same production companies that make all of these shows and probably signed them when they couldn't add a "I can say no to appearing on anything you ask me to do" clause. It helps that a lot of them are friends from that era of stand-up and TV comedy.

Harry Shearer and Corey Taylor have the cultural distance of not being able to do comedy panel game shows in the US, were probably fans or liked the idea of it and took the chance to have a go while they were over here.

Everybody else it's a case of asking nicely and seeing if they fancy it.

Darren Helm has announced his retirement. It’s a shame his lost so much of this past season to injury. He was a huge part of the Avs depth during their Cup run and I’ll never forget that goal vs the Blues that finally got the team through that second round curse.

I played an HD port sort of thing of the first Ys, it was fun, except the boss fights were turbofuck harder than everything else in the game? I somehow got to what felt like the last boss and didn't finish it. Didn't play any of the others.

This is where I am with Tighnari. I just want one to try and figure out if I'll like using him and building teams around him but I might not want more than that one of him. Especially since I don't have Dehya and want every constellation for her I can get. And Keqing, who I haven't gotten a constellation for in 2 years.

I'm currently at C2 for Jean, Diluc and Mona, and C1 for Keqing and Qiqi, life is pain.
