But the drama is really not working for me.
The 2023 Heritage Classic feature the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Calgary Flames at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Commonwealth Stadium is the home of the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League, and has a capacity of around 56,000. This game is the 20th anniversary of the NHL's first outdoor regular season game, which was in November of 2003 with Montreal at Edmonton at that same stadium. This will be the first time that Edmonton and Calgary play each other in an outdoor game.
The Game is at 7pm ET (5pm local time) on Sunday, October 29th. In Canada, the game will be broadcast on Sportsnet and streamed on Sportsnet+. In the US, the game will be broadcast on TBS, and streamed on MAX. This will mark the first regular season NHL game ever to air on TBS.
Pinto is still unsigned by the Sens, but since he is an RFA, the way the suspension will work is that it will be retroactive to Ottawa's first game of the season. He doesn't get paid while being suspended anyway so there's not a situation where being unsigned changes a whole bunch for the overall sitiation as it is. So he basically sits unsigned for half the season, can sign a contract near the end of the suspension, and play the last half of the season. Assuming Ottawa has cleared enough cap space for him to sign by then, which they still need to do.
What an amazing ride this show was.
Also if he wasn’t betting on NHL games I don’t see what the problem is. I’ve seen speculation that it was NFL games and if that’s truly the case, man who cares?
Finally one of these things has a pace that feels like it's actually going somewhere.
Like, I'm pretty sure that we just plowed through the fireworks factory at full speed.
We don't know details, and even the people in the know don't seem to know a ton, so most of it is speculation. But in Kane's case, the public court documents related to his bankruptcy mostly talk about losing millions at casino gambling, i.e. table games, not sports betting. So if Pinto's thing is about sports betting, it is a different situation and not comparable.
(this is not me endorsing Evander Kane. By all rights he appears to have mostly turned his life around but I still don't think the OIlers should have signed him when they did, and I'm an Oilers fan)
There is speculation with Pinto that it is related to gambling activity that isn't directly betting on hockey, but bordering in illegality. Firedman saying it may be related to "proxy betting" where you get someone to make bets for you, and potentially Pinto doing it in a way that wasn't kosher. Or betting on an app outside of that jurisdiction, which is illegal (i.e. using an Ontario betting app while not in Ontario, something like that)
The biggest thing to understand here, is that the NHLPA was involved in this, helped negotiate the length of the suspension, and is not appealing. If the NHLPA is on board with suspending a player for half a season, then whatever evidence there is/was of what he did, it was pretty clear, and pretty damning.
Friedman does think that it was proxy betting, so Pinto gave his legal betting account to someone else who was using it on his behalf, and that's where the issue began.
Like I said, I'm listening as I type this, but I think this one is worth listening to.

I mean I get the business side of the decision. Most of the OG stars are either out or too pricey these days. Clean slate with a fresh cast is the way to go.
So who do you guys think they will cast as Iron Man? Got to be somebody that can convincingly play a douchebag half the time and a genius the rest. As for Cap, if its not the American actor don't bother with suggestions. Its like James Bond in that regard. Got to be somebody from the US or else.
Honestly
EDIT: Also I gotta say
Also I'm guessing we're getting
*Miss Minutes doing the Nedry finger wag when she locked them out
*OB's suggestion to reboot the system but they'll lose the containment security systems
*Brad getting got, not from the one he saw, but from the clever girl getting him from behind that he never saw
It just needed someone getting got on a toilet to be complete
She just got off her shift at the 80's McDonalds, it's a rough job okay?
If they can take 1970's burnt orange and make it beautiful, they can make a mullet not look like a car accident.
If you know, you know.
Really hoping at this point that Renslayer ends up with a similar fate as the room full of helpless, terrified people she had brutally crushed to death, though. She's every bit as monstrous as He Who Remains ever was, except his actions actually drove He Who Remains insane. He climbed to the top out of necessity to stop the insanity of inter-reality war then could find no rational way to stop it happening again. Renslayer mostly just seems pissed off that nobody will back her plan and not at all regretful to be murdering TVA people in cold blood.
I think we're going to find out that the Loom was simply not necessary for an unlimited multiverse, though. Oroboros states it exists to weave raw time into reality, except time existed before the TVA. The multiverse existed before the TVA. It was only after He Who Remains made the TVA and wiped out the other Kangs and began enforcing the Sacred Timeline that I think the Loom was needed, in order to take an acceptable number of limited realities and merge them into a largely cohesive single universe. Until the Loom is destroyed, the multiverse can't properly move on because the Loom is still limiting possibilities. So this may be the point where things start to really splinter and go off the rails since the TVA will have nothing limiting any timeline any longer. Every moment in every reality spawning infinite parallel realities forever, with no convergence point anywhere.
But doesn't that mean that
Ravonna is, however, probably the one person other than HWR that Ellioth won't eat. IF she can survive the roving bands of Loki, he can probably just walk to the castle and start messing with HWR's stuff.
30MM x AC6 confirmed.

Honestly it made it all the more satisfying when it ends up they actually ran out of time and failed.
