Yeah. They're one of the worst materials to gather for crafting things, bar none.

For trading in for rep, I use the ones from the boss fights instead, which have no other uses. ...and I have a bunch of them piled up anyways.

I have some bad news about Crisma Toroids. (I think it was those, anyway.) I think they're why I straight up bought the Ocucor.

As someone who only watched freshman year and nothing else in this world… is episode 1 of junior year a deliberately incomprehensible bit about in-jokes and inaccessible canon and fan service? Or is it just genuinely unapproachable and not for me?

I’m only 15min into the episode and wondering if I should carry through with two hours of this. If it’s a deliberate bit, I’m up for it! But is it?

(I did watch the 24min series recap and it did not prepare me for whatever this is.)

The beginning of Junior Year is a bit. Trying not to spoil too much but it's a subversion on how Sophomore year started. Basically:

Sophomore Year deals with the cliffhanger from the end of Freshman Year, and that's basically what the season is. Just a straight continuation of the where the story left off.

Junior Year, similarly, starts off with the cliffhanger from Sophomore Year, but that's not what the season is about, so they start at the end of the epic quest dealing with that cliffhanger, and the jokes and characters are basically just the cast filling in the very intentional holes that Brennan left. So while they continue the story and deal with the thing that ended the second season, they gloss over it and have fun with filling the gaps.

I just gave it another chance starting last week and it does improve a good bit. IMO there are too many NPCs to keep track of, but things smooth out once this adventure comes into its own. I don't think the live format they were using really benefited anything either.

Also, I just reached episode 10 from January 2020 where Brennan laments the loss of Mike Trapp to layoffs at the studio and was really confused for a minute. I just saw him on Um, Actually. WTF are you talking about... oh right CollegeHumor.

So I took inventory of models I need to build and I have 19 kits to build. 2 Zoids kits, 1 Godzilla/Evangelion kit, and 16 Gundams.

I lost my job in October but never got the urge to build with the massive amount of down time I've had. Finally kind of feeling it but I'm not sure where to start.

So on Tuesday the Flyers announced that Carter Hart had requested, and was granted, an indefinitely leave of absence. There were no further details.

On Wednesday morning there is a report that London police (London, Ontario) have requested 5 individuals to surrender to police in connection with allegations of a sexual assault in 2018. Those 5 individuals are believed to all have been members of Canada's 2018 World Jr. Hockey team. They have been asked to surrender to police by an undisclosed date. No charges have been laid at this time.

Carter Hart was a member of that team.

This afternoon in Switzerland HC Ambri Piotta of the Swiss league announced that Alex Formenton, another member of that 2018 team, has been granted a leave of absence from the team to return to Canada.

Daniel Brierre, GM of the Flyers spoke to media this morning and when asked about Carter Hart has a lot of "The organization will have no comment at this time"

Those are the facts as we know them this second.

I will remind everyone that we should keep any discussion about this factual, respectful, and not go too far off into speculation. It should be pointed out that it is not confirmed that Hart or Formenton are involved, though the timing leaves little doubt.

I for one am glad that the investigation is moving and working towards a resolution. This is a bad situation, but it needs to be put to a resolution, whatever that may be.

Couldn't wait for Styanax to come out of the oven before using Afentis, and it's pretty neat! Still fires slow like all the spearguns, and the delayed explosion of the projectile took some getting used to, but it hits like a dumptruck and it looks cool as fuck. Dunno what to think about the throw's buff though, like should I toss it down and keep using the Afentis in it? Switch to my secondaries? Just let my teammates use it and ignore it for myself? I also wonder if there's a way to make it last longer and/or have a bigger range. I tried the Firestorm mod, but it seemed like it only made the explosion of the primary fire bigger.

New Jersey Devils have announced that Michael McLeod and Cal Foote have both requested and been granted indefinite leave of absences from the team. Both players were on the 2018 Team Canada.

I should point out that a couple of days ago Dillon Dube of Calgary was also given an indefinite leave of absence, though that announcement included a statement from the player referencing mental health. The others so far have all been "no comment." But Dube was also on that team so until anything is confirmed it is possible he is the 5th player, but we do not know that.

I didn’t love the live format and lack of battle sets in Sophomore Year, so I bailed after a few episodes. But they’d billed Junior Year as something you could jump into even if you’d missed Sophomore Year. And I watched the series recap they released to prep you for Junior Year, but still… the first ~15min at least of Junior Year episode 1 is completely incomprehensible to me.

It sounds like that might be intentional? Like it’s all a gaslighting bit about in-jokes and confusing lore? Or is that not the case?

Sophomore year definitely seems to be building steam as time goes on. I have been watching it and damn near gave up 3 episodes in as the live format definitely hurts them. I am glad that it seems to be the only season they did that for.

yeah it is a bit that did not work at all for me. might be fun as a one-off but it was way overdone.

which, fair, they can´t all be hits, sometimes you miss.

The bit was intentional, and it was also a response to fans demanding their favorite NPCs return. Brennan mentioned in an interview that he really doesn't want season three to have a part every episode where a beloved NPC shows up, delivers a catch phrase like in a sitcom (cue laugh track and applause), then rinse and repeat.

It's something Dimension 20 has fallen into in the past, as well as other big DND actual play games, so I appreciate them wanting to go in new directions in a really big and interesting world.

Mobile defense (which will spawn 1 Thrax per player per defense objective) or Void Cascade (where they'll spawn to take over your exolizers).

I would encourage you to stick it out, as the back half of Sophomore year has some of the best roleplaying sequences that the Intrepid Adventurers have done in the entire series (across all of Dimension 20). Specifically, the bits with Adaine and Aelwyn, anything that has to do with Gilear, the Fig and Ayda stuff, and everything in the forest of nightmares at the end. The whole solo battle on Leviathan with Fabian is worth watching, too, just to see how bad things get (everything that can go wrong does). I'm also really fond of the whole sequence where they're just constantly dunking on elves.

The theater of the mind battles can be a bit "eh" if you are more into having physical/virtual representations, but you can definitely just skip the battles and very little content is lost (you can look up YouTube compilations of "best natural 20s" on Fantasy High Sophomore Year for the highlights).
