    And there we go!

    v4vjgs7e0ye1.png

Majority of the climb done with Thanos:

    it8dt57uf049.png

I was considering switching to the superior Prof X version that removes Magneto, but I was right at the finish line already.

It should be noted, that I did steal quite a few cubes with Patriot Surfer & Zoo when Mockingbird dropped:

    xktizxuaearq.png

That was early though before Thanos really overwhelmed everyone. Overall, Thanos is a mega powerhouse that needs a good, long looking at so he's not a problem going forward.

The still shot doesn't do the animation justice.

Now I need to find a good Wave and Jeff! variants to spend my boosters on.

I’m still bouncing around 89-91. Can’t seem to find something that helps me climb, but I think I just need to be more practical with my snaps/retreats. I just always want to see what happens in the last turn!

Yeah, retreating is the number 1 skill to learn in order to climb. Most of my losses were 1-2, only risking a 4 cube loss on them having a very specific tech card (which they always do...lol).

It seems so vastly different from his Avengers run which had (imo) a clear through-line and end game.

I think his idea was about showing what mutants working together could actually mean and the impacts that would have on things like culture, technology, art, and religion. I actually think he did a really good job with what he was doing but was hemmed in by virtue of the X-Men needing to exist in a wider Marvel universe.

In a perfect world there's a "What If?" universe that just continues the Krakoan age but absent all the other Marvel bullshit.

Only the whole thing was announced at the very start (via a future that was basically Days of Future Past yet again, and another future that was some utterly pretentious wankery) that it was always doomed to fail. And even without that, I couldn't get into Krakoa's society working because every character except Magneto and Sinister had their personalities wiped, and the whole thing turned into an off-putting racist death cult.

Edit: And then Nightcrawler turned from kinda fun to HI I'M THE RELIGIOUS ONE, constantly.

I'm learning I'm not the biggest fan of Hickman's writing.

Yeah, deciding the best way for X-men society to express itself was to be an imperialist colonialist ethnostate with explicit genocidal overtones, while also abjectly neglecting children and also occasionally murder by ritual combat was... a choice.

But they have fun designer outfits, so no biggie, right?

I actually think that in a world where you can be someone that develops powers that can kill the universe the idea of a mutant ethnostate is kind of interesting to explore. I'll add though that they weren't an absolute ethnostate and did allow multiple humans/aliens to live on the island. I'm not sure I'd quantify Krakoa as being Imperialist either though. In a lot of ways they were the exact opposite of an imperialist regime.

What they did to albion or whatever the fuck it was called is absolutely imperialist.

The Steel Path Circuit can surprise me sometimes. One of my recent runs had a Pyrana Prime that I expected to just be a filler weapon, but it actually turned out to be really, really good?

edit: Based on further testing in the normal Steel Path, it was probably the vulnerability decree that was doing it. Also, wow does that thing have a ton of recoil.

What’s amazing about Vic to me is that they seem to be holding back their full potential chaos. Like they seem to be keeping a lot of intrusive thoughts in reserve, just in case they have to unleash a true hell on Sam. Can’t wait for that episode!

I think my problem is that I often reach infinite in the first few days of a season, and after that I just don’t care about cubes, so I’ll happily let people win 8 cubes just to let the game play out.

So in a season when it’s taking me longer to climb, I need to retrain my brain.

Eh, I disagree. Rich people already negotiated lower % numbers. Realistically it will probably eliminate the "must have buyers agent" which will likely halve commission %. More likely there will now be a discussion of Redfin-some help-luxury help commitment for selling homes and a healthier market with more differentiation on pricing.

I would guess corporate entities don't really need a real estate agent and just have their own person on staff doing all the paperwork.

CNN is claiming it'll make home prices drop. Buyers/Sellers will be able to negotiate rates more easily.

Eh. CNN is claiming it'll make home prices drop because banks are happy about it and banks are basically CNN's target demo

Banks are happy about it because they own - or hold security interest in - a lot of property and owners of property are happy about it

and property owners are happy about it because they're excited to be able to make more money on their property by pocketing the difference in commission instead of lowering the price

Broadly speaking, when transaction costs go down, the value of the cost reduction accrues between the buyer and seller roughly in proportion to their negotiating power. If buyers have most of the power, then they get most of the benefit in the form of a lower equilibrium purchase price. If sellers have most of the power - like if supply is really low and demand is really inelastic - then they can keep the price from moving too much and collect most of the benefits themselves by selling the same product at roughly the same price, while paying less in transaction costs.

Housing is a market where sellers have most of the power, and is likely to remain so for a good long while. That's why your first reaction was to be excited about selling without losing the commission.

What's stupid is in the first krakoa year they had the X-Men go to the FF to have Franklin join them, in an attempt to retcon the retcon that he's a mutant, and after using Doom as a enemy to unite against because he wanted to protect Latverian mutants and also wanted to push to evolve humans beyond mutants (ie be super smart like him and Val) Xavier straight up mindwipes Reed to not be able to figure out how to hide/turn off the mutant gene that he did to keep Franklin from the X-Men. And then they just handwave it away like Reed's cool with it years later as they try and wrap up the Krakoa story because they insisted on having Xavier be the good guy in this story, and it was fucking dumber than JMS' Civil War Reed.

I just want a hero to say "you guys want to live in world that fears and hates you, but they fear and hate you because of this shit! Stop it you sumbitches!"

Also, to be fair, Peter Parker did that like 20 years ago.
