Played a lot of this season with a cooked-up hybrid Patriot/Surfer/Mockingbird thing.
I tried to make “buff Lady Deathstrike, Gladiator, and Shaw… and then Surf” work but my meta just had too many destroy decks that *wanted* me to nuke their stuff.
It was super fun when facing anything else. Got to kill a few Draculas and Iron Men.

You are old for using that and I am old for remembering it
Alioth is still a pretty great counter.

But the wealth of human bosses means it's playing to Dark Soul's strength nigh-constnatly - the game's always at it's best with the artorias-scale fights, and at it's worst when it's throwing stuff like the Fire Giant at you.
Also it has the Bone First and that's just one of the best weapons they ever came up with and i miss it constantly.

If there's one thing being thrown in the Thunderdome that is Infinite has taught me it's how to play around Alioth.
You know, I've faced Thanos decks in my climb to Infinite, but I hadn't faced any decks with Alioth in it. Now Armor is no longer in my deck solely to mess with Destroy decks.
Gotta kit dante out for maximum range
I remember one time I dropping Shang Chi on T5 just so I could get initiative and get around Alioth. Won with my own Alioth #partoftheproblem

Now that I think about it, I may have put a baking dish on range top.
As I came home from running my errand I heard the call of feathered cobras

Then I got to Series 3 cards on the Collection Level and bloody hell the difficulty swing is massive. I'm retreating from the majority of my games, losing more than winning when I do play to the end of Round Six and very, very rarely snapping. Trapped between rank 13 -17.
Learning when to retreat is probably the biggest skill you'll have to figure out, especially coming from other CCGs. Most of my games don't get to turn 6, as me or my opponent can recognize the board state and determine who's gonna win.
Most of your climbing points will be knowing when it's best to snap and to do so early. For example, if your deck is built around 3 cards that work really well together and you have two of them in hand by turn 2, you should snap. Odds are fairly high that you'll draw into the last card. Sure, you might not reach it, or the last revealed location may screw you over, but you need to play the odds in order to climb.
If you find yourself losing 4 or 8 cubes, you're snapping too often and not retreating enough. And it's totally fine to leave after snapping early. Sometimes we get invested into our snap/play lines that we overcommit. There's lots of RNG elements in Snap, so don't worry too much if things go bad for you, even over a series of games.
If you have anymore questions or want some deck building ideas, we're always happy to help.

Especially when those missing cards are Series 4 or 5.
Thunderbolts! Season Pass card is Baron Zemo with variants for Taskmaster and Abomination
5 cards:
- Baron Zemo (Season Pass): 3/5, On Reveal: Recruit the lowest-cost card from your opponent's deck to your side here (This could be good late-game)
- Red Hulk (Series 5): 6/11, When an opponent ends a turn with unspent energy, this gets +4 Power (if in your hand or in play) (What the fuck lmao this thing is insane)
- USAgent (Series 5): 2/3, Ongoing: 4/5/6-cost cards here get -3 Power
- White Widow (Series 5): 2/2, On Reveal: Add a Widow's Kiss to your opponent's side of this location (Widow's Kiss: 0/0, Ongoing: This has -4 Power, disable this ability if your side of this location is full (AKA, if your opponent fills the lane))
- Red Guardian (Series 5): 3/3, On Reveal: Afflict the lowest-Power enemy card here with -2 Power and remove it's text (This thing is gonna be strong, I can feel it)
- Valentina (Series 5): 2/3, On Reveal: Add a random 6-cost card to your hand, give it -3 Power and -2 cost
2 new locations:- Castle Zemo: The first card you play here switches sides
- Thunderbolts Tower: After turn 5, give all cards here -2 Power
Spotlight Caches:- 4/2: Red Hulk, Sebastian Shaw, Echo
- 4/9: USAgent, Jeff!, Mirage (sick Mirage variant this week)
- 4/16: Red Guardian, High Evo, Lady Deathstrike
- 4/23: White Widow, Snowguard, Nico Minoru
- 4/30: Valentina, Blob, Knull
3 albums: Future Villains (Villains with 3099 variants), Cosmic Companions (Dan Hipp cosmic characters), Kim JacintoLeagues are going into playtesting this season, starting only in Europe. They're 30-player timed tournaments, where you have to gain points to climb the leaderboard and win rewards. They'll be coming out after playtesting, first test will be in "late April."
You get pixel Leader for 9, who is at this point I have to assume intentionally terrible, with the big brain Leader emote for 12/12. I'm shocked, I only had two of these already.
