There does seem to be an unusually large amount of whining recently, especially with Deep Archimedea coming out as well.

I'm kind of surprised by how many people apparently never realized that the endgame was always supposed to be about owning absolutely everything. There's even a number by everyone's name that primarily tracks how much stuff they've owned. The game has been a bit bad about properly rewarding you for it in the past, but the intent was clearly always there.

    Yes.

I’ve been balding since I was, like, 16. I’ve been shorn up top since I was in my late 20s. I started graying maybe 4-5 years ago.

    So yes.

is there a way to cut rib bones at home without a cleaver or a meat saw I mean actually cut them in thirds down through the bone I don't just mean separate the ribs from each other

i am exploring red braised ribs there are different recipes https://www.chinasichuanfood.com/red-braised-pork-ribs/ https://blog.themalamarket.com/sichuan-hong-shao-ribs-and-radish/

I realize I could do whole ribs but then you cannot eat it normally with chopsticks I could go to the butcher and buy the ribs there and ask them to cut it but their prices are outrageous and the meat is the same as what you get at a grocery store there are also boned ribs where they removed the bone but when you cook the flavor of the bones leaches into the food.

They sell cleavers on amazon for $25 you can look this up that say they can cut bones but I am scared to buy products on amazon I have had too many problems with their sellers selling low quality products you could get seriously hurt if a big cleaver broke when you were hitting the bones with it\

I think the sellers just make up phrases on amazon "Bone Cutting Knife Bone Breaker, Stainless Steel Thicken Blade & Pear Wood Handle, Slaughterhouse Looks Manly,2024 Gifts" I do not want to know who is buying a cleaver based on it looks manly there are more dangerous products than knives though there are even fake motorcycle helmets https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/motorcycle-helmets-online-counterfeit-safety-1.6664654

Can't say I agree with that take. I've saved everything I've ever built (what didn't get fed into the helminth, anyway), but I'm weird about that. For the previous 11 years the game did not encourage you to keep everything - in fact, its design encouraged the opposite - to master something and then throw it away if it was "fodder," because weapon slots are limited, and you kept the Mastery points anyway.

Nothing was saying "hey it might be important for you to keep that stubba for 7 years" until Duviri. And duviri would still give you a basic version of the weapon to use if you didn't have it.

So yeah, no, I don't agree. The level of whining is exasperating, but it's also lame that DE keeps pushing RNG choices without addressing the issues raised by their previous design incentives. It would be nice if, say, after you mastered a weapon and threw it away, maybe you should be able to pay some pittance of basic currency like credits to pull it from a collections tab/"cold storage" a la a Destiny exotic. You'd still need the weapon slot free, but you wouldn't have to re-farm and re-build the fucking thing if you mastered it in the past. Maybe limit it to base forms and not primes if you're concerned about the prime parts market (I'm not), but it would still be way better going forward.

My mom said we can’t get a cleaver so that settles that she thought it might damage the counter if I was bashing through bones with the cleaver even with a cutting board I think she might be right our counters don not seen that sturdy and they are kind of old I would guess about 40 years old and not like solid hard wood or metal or something I believe they are synthetic

Also that amount of banging might scare my dog she doesn’t like it when I make bang bang chicken I am talking about the actual bang bang chicken not the american dish that’s full of mayonnaise https://redhousespice.com/bang-bang-chicken/ we put the chicken in a bag on the floor and hit it with a rolling pin after cooking it and Emma my dog she’s a pomeranian doesn’t like that sound

I recommend the recipe to anyone it is a great way to use chicken breast and it has yummy cucumber too B)

I guess I could put the cutting board on the floor and chop ribs on the floor too although I’m not sure squating down and using a cleaver like I use the rolling pin is quite safe I do not think I will do it

That was a very good ep. I have to think some of the players cottoned on a bit earlier than the show let on, though. Especially
Mike, Lily or Rekha. The PA constantly messing with them surely made them suspicious. Mike's look at the end made me think he suspected, at least.

It's been a good season for sure. Sam Says 3 was excellent, Second Place was excellent, the drawing one was impressive even if I didn't love the actual show that resulted, but I didn't much like the Newlywebs one. I dunno. Splurging your personal details everywhere makes me nope pretty hard out of things, and also someone spending like $1500 on takeout over the course of a month could not have put a bigger chasm between me and someone on screen than if they'd pulled off their face and been an ET all along.

Depending on the thickness of the bones, there are some heavy-duty shears/snips that could do it. I wouldn't try it with beef ribs, but like babybacks wouldn't be a problem.

I'm still very fond of DS2 and think it gets a bad rap, often unfairly so. I do think it could have used a bit more thought in how the world links together - or, at least, making it clearer how much storybook and brokenl ands logic it was operating on.

But the wealth of human bosses means it's playing to Dark Soul's strength nigh-constnatly - the game's always at it's best with the artorias-scale fights, and at it's worst when it's throwing stuff like the Fire Giant at you.

Also it has the Bone First and that's just one of the best weapons they ever came up with and i miss it constantly.

IMO D2 was the best realized game in terms of the story and world matching. It had actual "oh shit" moments in it that I don't think other games have easily matched, and it felt like paying attention to thematic design and focus was worthwhile for the game.

I have DS2, but I haven't gotten past character selection. Is it worth going back? I just finished up DS3 after losing my save file a couple years and deciding it was worth it to finish it.

There are two key things that bug me with DS2 that I'd mark down as being genuinely worse than even DS1:

The way just moving around feels wrong. I've never played a game that feels bad every time I pick it back up. I have nearly 1200 hours in the stupid thing and it's still unpleasant to touch if it's been a while. And the way the slow-down thing works when you get hit feels worse somehow than any other option they could have possibly imagined.

The abundance of gotcha encounters where the devs really wanted to get a kill on you every X minutes even if they had to do it cheap. These fade on repeat playthroughs because you know what to expect, but I seriously hated the game because of it the first time through, not like fun hated it just thought it was shit.

    Hello homeowner thread

I've got a classic problem I want some advice for: ant infestation

We've got tiny little black ants coming our front entrance and getting into my mother's basement apartment. I've seen them swarming the front steps occasionally, and I bet there's a colony right outside.

What have y'all found most effective? I picked up some good old Raid traps that are pet safe (well, at least for cats and now chewy dogs), so we'll see how that goes

I came home today and they were swarming my cat's food dishes on the floor, and they'd gotten into my mom's baking pantry, so even though I like ants and I think they're cool, I respect them too much not to declare war

It is only our money that allows commercial culture to flower. If we didn't want to live like this, we could have changed it at any time, by not fucking paying for it.

I’d complained about the first few Ify episodes of Um, Actually… so I’m happy to report the latest episode is great.

I’m guessing Ify had a bad head cold or something during the filming block for the first few episodes. His voice and energy are totally different in the latest episode. Much more fun!

Still wish the incorrect statements were much more concise, though.
