Broly was pretty but those fights could get pretty incomprehensible.

    As for Super Hero:
The Gammas were indoctrinated to believe the conspiracy theory about our main cast, why would they be given knowledge that they don’t work for the good guys? Kinda didn’t work out too well for red ribbon when the Gammas did find out.

I just don't find it realistic that
The Gammas never questioned anything about the RR Army considering they've never actually tried to hide the fact they want to conquer the world and all their tech/actions are in service to this. It's also not been that long since the RR Army was terrorizing the planet, Goku destroyed them as a kid so there's bound to be lots of adults his age who remember the horrors inflicted by the RR Army.

But also the main problem I have with the movie is Cell and his complete emptiness of anything that made him Cell. No personality, no wit, no intelligence, just one glaring weak point on his head like a giant enemy crab.

Hell, this movie could have reached into GT and rummaged around a bit to find a way to make Super 17 a thing. Or Android 13 as a remake of his movie. Something interesting

    Oh in Oshi no Ko
Kana's VA is really killing it with doing the comedy bits. And Akane's VA likewise did an amazing impression of Ai's VA.

him taking the time to reflect and be like, no, I'm not into her- I'm just impressed she can do an impression of my Momfriend so good; that was more mature. Like it definitely seems in line with his character to realize he don't have the acting chops to make big connections, but if this girl can do an Ai act she'll become a megastar and he can definitely use that.

I'm impressed with the pacing of the show, it really knows how to end an episode on a mic drop literally every time lol

The timing with the ending music has the same vibes as the old JoJo "To be continued..." arrow. It's great.

I'm watching the Summer Keighley Games Ads and they just announced a fucking Sand Land game.

For those not familiar, Sand Land is a 1 volume manga by Akira Toriyama from 2000.

I remember thinking that Sand Land was maybe his best complete story at the time I read it

Granted I was like thirteen, fourteen, but it looked good and it had arcs and it ended strong

    Game looks neat!

I went to the one piece wiki to guess what chapter it is.

    It's not (enormous manga spoilers)
gear 5, which is probably still 2 months away

    Most likely it's
law and kid defeating big mom

Also, holy shit the one piece wiki (all wikia's, really) are pop-up ad-infested nightmares even with adblock.

If I remember right there was someone putting together some kind of browser extension or third party website or something that would display a wikia page as a normal goddamn page and remove all the heinous video ads and bullshit from it

But I can’t for the life of me find it again so maybe stick with ublock or whatever for now

I don't have any third party ads on it on one browser, but there's a bunch of weird discord-windows and pop-ups about Fandom itself. A different browser will show a bunch of ads and then crash.

In what year does Princess Mononoke take place? I thought it was during the 1600s or 1700s going by the flintlock rifles and lack of steam power but the movie's secondary conflict starts after the Emperor puts a bounty on Deer God and offers a divine pardon for killing it.

I'm watching this video and the claim is the Emperor reached super ultra peak divine authority in the late 1800s after Admiral Perry kicked in the front door with gunboat diplomacy.

I don't think there is any historical context that makes the movie fit within a single historical context.

I'm pretty sure the local population, i.e. the village where Ashitaka the male lead comes from, depicted in the movie are meant to be Emishi, as opposed to Ainu. The Emishi lost all political independence as well as cultural distinctiveness by the eleventh century. Guns weren't introduced to Japan until the 1500s. (They adapted to them and began producing their own very quickly though.)

So there is no historical overlap between a time when Emishi existed independently, or even were distinguishable from their originally Yamato neighbors, and a time when firearms were present in Japan.

while zz was disappointing to me in terms of missed opportunities, it still did have good stuff about it and parts I actually liked, and I legit came around on liking the shangri-la gang

this show though however, just felt like a complete mess and a real failed to launch situation all around

also, shahkti caused the near extinction of the human race. whoops.

Miyazaki has mentioned the Muromachi-era in interviews, and that the guns used were inspired by 15th century ones imported from China, but presented as better than the real ones so that the movie doesn't end with Eboshi blowing herself up by accident. As far as I know the emperor always retained some degree of divine and ceremonial status in the shogunate, while lacking practical power. Though yeah the Meiji's gathering of practical power also included reshaping shinbutsu-shugo to back that up religiously, and to weaken influential buddhists.

In Princess Mononoke he's just offering rewards and indulgences for voluntary service, which I guess he might have been able to do?

    Hell's Paradise Ep 10:

I know that everyone always hates exposition in any shape or form (or at least it seems so when reading about people's reactions to any kind of exposition in shows), but I think exposition here was done pretty well, as we see three different groups, each dealing with different elements of the puzzle, no one having a full view of the situation, outside of the viewer.
