As for Super Hero:

But also the main problem I have with the movie is Cell and his complete emptiness of anything that made him Cell. No personality, no wit, no intelligence, just one glaring weak point on his head like a giant enemy crab.
Hell, this movie could have reached into GT and rummaged around a bit to find a way to make Super 17 a thing. Or Android 13 as a remake of his movie. Something interesting
Honestly
I'm impressed with the pacing of the show, it really knows how to end an episode on a mic drop literally every time lol
Akane with that "Tim Drake figuring out Bruce Wayne is Batman" energy.
e: thank you!
For those not familiar, Sand Land is a 1 volume manga by Akira Toriyama from 2000.
There's a reason for them bringing in the outside help on this one, if it's what I think it is.

I remember thinking that Sand Land was maybe his best complete story at the time I read it
Granted I was like thirteen, fourteen, but it looked good and it had arcs and it ended strong
Game looks neat!

He's been working with One Piece for a while. That episode should be part of the
I went to the one piece wiki to guess what chapter it is.
It's not (enormous manga spoilers)
Most likely it's
Also, holy shit the one piece wiki (all wikia's, really) are pop-up ad-infested nightmares even with adblock.
But I can’t for the life of me find it again so maybe stick with ublock or whatever for now

TFWiki managed to keep themselves free and independent, at least.
I assume that's mostly because of David Willis' webcomic money.
I'm watching this video and the claim is the Emperor reached super ultra peak divine authority in the late 1800s after Admiral Perry kicked in the front door with gunboat diplomacy.
lol I got recommended it too. Classic Koji Morimoto animation! You can just instantly see his style everywhere.
gyaru experiments glain
I'm pretty sure the local population, i.e. the village where Ashitaka the male lead comes from, depicted in the movie are meant to be Emishi, as opposed to Ainu. The Emishi lost all political independence as well as cultural distinctiveness by the eleventh century. Guns weren't introduced to Japan until the 1500s. (They adapted to them and began producing their own very quickly though.)
So there is no historical overlap between a time when Emishi existed independently, or even were distinguishable from their originally Yamato neighbors, and a time when firearms were present in Japan.
actual thoughts
this show though however, just felt like a complete mess and a real failed to launch situation all around
also, shahkti caused the near extinction of the human race. whoops.
If the real world could be fixed by punching the Pope in the face in their Absolutely Not a Final Boss Room while faux-Latin music swells in the background I'd already be banned from the Vatican
Miyazaki has mentioned the Muromachi-era in interviews, and that the guns used were inspired by 15th century ones imported from China, but presented as better than the real ones so that the movie doesn't end with Eboshi blowing herself up by accident. As far as I know the emperor always retained some degree of divine and ceremonial status in the shogunate, while lacking practical power. Though yeah the Meiji's gathering of practical power also included reshaping shinbutsu-shugo to back that up religiously, and to weaken influential buddhists.
In Princess Mononoke he's just offering rewards and indulgences for voluntary service, which I guess he might have been able to do?
I know that everyone always hates exposition in any shape or form (or at least it seems so when reading about people's reactions to any kind of exposition in shows), but I think exposition here was done pretty well, as we see three different groups, each dealing with different elements of the puzzle, no one having a full view of the situation, outside of the viewer.
Just finished ep 5.
It's the one
