I was just thinking a little moment like this even would be really tough to animate without using some clunky CG
Dandadan 128
I'm willing to wait if that will take karoshi off the board
The anime version does a great job with all of the music, particularly with the Valac family. There's also a bit during the amusement park arc where it turns into Synphogear for an episode.
Well, it's just Mad Max if it starred Bruce Lee. You'd have to try to fuck up a live adaptation of that.

Clara is kind of A Best(tm). The competition for best girl in Iruma-kun is fairly stiff, but she wins it without effort, and the Valac family is excellent.
Oh and speaking of Eurobeats I also got the urge to check out the original Baki the Grappler series. Mainly because I wanted to know who half these rando karate men are in the series and where the hell they all come from.
Man I love how 90s anime intros are completely tonally disjointed from the anime.
Man this slaps!
I don't know much about the production of the show but it looks like they switched animation studios halfway through, I know there was an OVA but the animation changed quite a bit after it, not too bad but they did lose the great intro and got this turd instead:
I mean, just look at that 90s CG... yikes! Just a good thing they kept the animation traditional in the actual episodes.
Doesn't Clara's family have both?
Yeah, Clara's dad is not around due to working in the demon world uh... government and what exactly he does is some sort of secret.
And that he's never been in an ambulance before.
Bagley it was just nice to have a religious character who a: Wasnt a horrible asshole, and b: actually had a philosphy and awareness about things. Even if you get the sense it's a little self serving in that he really is that cantankerous, it's also very neat in how he's clearly thought long and hard about what to do with the power vested in him, how to use it, and what best to use it for.
Also that he dosent just stop being cantakerous when we find this out, nope, he's gonna be EVEN MORE CANTANKEROUS
and Bee's just great. Really wholesome series, i enjoyed that a whole bunch

Ahaha. Hadn't even realized until you pointed out the parallels. Sure, why not. Nothing wrong with cribbing from the classics.

Hobbit, but honestly darker at the start what with the dwarves having nearly suffered a genocide at the dragon's hands.
And a better set of hero's than in the Hobbit, or at least, more morally upstanding.

Have you actually seen it? Because I have - and while it's better than most live action adaptations, that particular bar is sunk deep in the cold, cold earth.
On the other hand, I actually felt bad for Alpha this time. She is 100% sincerely devoted to Cid for saving her life, thinks she's inadequate and unable to repay him, and he thinks this is all a game the two of them are playing. Alpha's VA's performance was genuinely heart wrenching. To say nothing of the animation of the fight, which was brilliant.
Then Yukime lays her super serious and sad backstory on Cid, and his only thought is maybe remembering if that time was actually him? The weaving of over the top serious and patently ridiculous was very strong this week.
The after credits scene ties in to this week's Kage-Jitsu as well.
Uhh is this a manga thing and not a thing that's happened in show yet?
<Blank look>
What I'm getting from this is that I need to rewatch season 1 because I appear to have forgotten 90% of it.
No, it was more of a comment of how the concept of it is extremely simple to the point where one would have to try to miss the damned point.

It still ain't really a good story but it's shit like him
I appreciate the way there's arrows in some of the panels to make the direction of motion clearer, because I am bad at visually parsing action sequences at the best of times and hockey has a lot of very fast movement to keep up with.
(Also, it's not just eyebrows that are familiar, it's got the same sorts of real-world accuracy as Golden Kamuy, too, at least as far as location goes:
If you're gonna crib names Tolkien is the best to crib them from.
