It's just hype aversion, which I feel is a known phenomenon.
Lodoss War the OVA definitely had large time jumps, they called them out explicitly as time jumps in the narration but it did still feel jarring sometimes.
I haven't gotten to season 2 yet. Season 1 has kinda snuck up on me though, Rudy is a creep but he catches himself and realizes that he's wrong when he does. It's characters self-reflection I don't expect in an isekai.

Even D&D has figured this out. C'mon.
And what is being proposed is that when a show takes up so much real-estate in what is for all purposes a mega-thread, it should get its own independent thread, ya know, like we do for a lot of other topics.
We have a thread entirely for DBZ, we can (and should) keep doing that for shows that will maintain active, focused discussion.
And it's not "sustained" conversation when the bulk of it happens immediately after a weekly release then peters out until the next one.
People are using them properly.
And don't be silly, we're not automatons. It's because they're good shows, not because of "ad money".
Sheesh, Frieren talk wasn't even a full page.
"OMG, that was the fireworks factory! But how can they possibly follow it up next week?"
But I guess I was way off base for what the complaint here was.
Hell, this thread is often what causes me to take a look at something in the first place, not ads.

Just point it out, it's not grounds for "everything needs its own thread". How much chatter do CSM and WFM get now? Almost none, it comes with the season. Hell, the two biggest shows this season are JJK and SxF, and neither gets much talk here.
We occasionally get a page or two that's all Gundam, or Kamen Rider, or some other large popular franchise, and I just scroll past. I don't see the harm.
And I mean, I guess I'm weird because I'm just not really bothered by figuring out some stuff from how people talk about a show? If anything I tend to consider it a positive that has a better chance to catch my curiosity than asking for suggestions and getting people writing blurbs that are carefully curated to tell me nothing because spoilers bad. It's a way to get a sense for what happens in a show and whether I may be interested in actually watching it without getting the full faceful of everything that happens in it.
I feel like at some point in development this series had a little more going on, ideas-wise, and then somebody high up the ladder got real grumpy about the French and Haitian revolution stuff so instead of Marie Antoinette, vampire, Elizabeth Bathory is here and so on. There's definitely a few thoughts its probably better they didn't finish, but it's weird that they left the start in, y'know?
Anyways they really do gotta hire a writer who has been to sunday school once if they're gonna keep dragging faith into these, i remember back in season three one of the villains basically went "rrrrrrrriddle me this, Belmont: if god exists, why do bad things happen to good people???" and it hasn't really improved since
To be fair, some of the best stuff in S1 revolved around the church being scumbags.
making them more central to the plot means they've gotta hold up to slightly more scrutiny

Beyond that, I'm not sure what would be discussed in this thread if people consistently go "well I don't like it when other people talk about this manga/anime so stop". I do think people try and not drop enormous spoilers out in the open but also if you're really worried about being spoiled on currently airing anime that you aren't currently watching... why are you scrolling a generalized ongoing anime discussion thread?
anyways, castlevania nocturne
the heroes managed to accomplish nearly nothing and then alucard swoops in and one-shots the vampire boss.
Oh hey, I do that too! Sometimes it's hilarious when the wiki entry is hella sparse, though, like no one's bothered sprucing it up yet, and only the official blurb is used.
For me it felt like they were stuck in this awkward place between trying to mimic warren ellis's style, but not getting ellis to write it. Which, like, good, Ellis is a jerkwad and can fuck right off, but they should have found their own voice for things - Ellis, for good or ill, was very... distinct, shall we say.

Somewhere in the afterlife, Trevor suddenly got really annoyed and he doesn't know why.
I can't help you very well, as it's a collection of primary sources (animators currently or previously employed there) tweeting stuff about how shitty the conditions are.
Very on brand tho
So uh, sounds pretty fucking bad
