    JJK Season 2 Episode 17:
That's a lot of damage. So if I understand right, Sukuna's domain expansion does two things. First, it cuts all sorcerors/cursed spirits/special bois. Second, at the same time, it cuts everything else. Like, people, objects, the fucking air. So it's basically a 200m radius of if you're within 200 cubic meters of Sukuna you just die, full stop, do not pass Go, do not collect two hundred dollars. So that's a problem. As of right now literally the only thing I think can counter it is Gojo's ability to not let things touch him. I feel like if Sukuna ever decides to fight basically anyone else besides Gojo and actually wants to end the fight, he can just kill literally anybody instantly.

I'm really not feeling I'm In Love With The Villainess so far. Rae isn't being cute, she's being a harassing stalker.

+1 on this. I gave it a few episodes after seeing the acclaim for The Speech about not being a prejudiced asshole to gay people (and how weak other stuff this season is), and that's way the fuck more than other shows do instead of just fetishizing it, and it's super important to vocalize it. But the context, on both sides, was pretty fucked up.
On one side, we have the ojou being a petty asshole because "fuck poor people," and nobody has a serious problem with that or gives any speech to not be a classist dickbag. No, this is funny because the target of her harassment likes the attention. Just roll your eyes. Rich people being silly rich people.

On the other side, we have the MC kicking in doors to jump into the bath with her, showing up in the middle of the night to hug her, blurting out the other girl's deepest secrets in front of everybody to fluster her, so on and so forth. And this is all also fine. It's completely okay to act like that. It's cute.

Don't have anything really to add, and don't feel that strongly. Just agreeing.

My favorite parts of Frieren are the character interactions and how literally everybody has such a deadpan, calm expression no matter what they're doing.

btw, if you're not watching Apothecary Diaries, I recommend it. It's got this classical Chinese romance thing going on, but also the protagonist is a little gremlin who loves experimenting with poisons on herself. It's real fun.

One problem I think I have with the recent JJK ep:
As amazing as that fight was, there's unclear stakes. It's Sukuna VS... monster thing? Unlike, say, Geto and Gojo, each of whom the story has fleshed out and generated interest in.

It's still incredible to behold, just kind of... hollow.

Unfortunately, as a manga reader, you're staying to hit the bit where the series stops being able to cash the checks it's writing.

    The main difference,
is his DE gives you a chance to escape since it isn't sealed. Not much, but hey.

I just don't get what he's after or why he gave control back or who his apprentice is... etc etc

It's clear he didn't *give* control back. That was as long as he could maintain control over Yuji's body. It seems that whatever weird shit is up with Yuji's body that gives him superhuman strength also means he's like the perfect-or worst, depending on how you look at it-vessel to contain Sukuna's bad juju. Two episodes ago when Jogo was thinking back on their plan he remembered not-Geto saying that even if Yuji had literally all of Sukuna in him Sukuna probably wouldn't be able to take permanent control and would eventually be forced back down into Yuji. As for Sukuna's friend... I dunno either. He was hanging around some with the cursed spirits in season one but since we know nothing about Sukuna besides him being the worst guy back in his day... *shrugs*

    Huh.
That's basically Jagganoth's special move in Kill 6 Billion Demons. Though his range isn't 200m, it's more like 200,000km.

    Blood-Sated Sword Soul
80,000 blows are struck at once, leaving no space that is not a sword.
Men and horses will be split in two, and the land will be put to waste.
Since there is nowhere to evade, be they man or immortal, all will be cut and be slain instantly.

    What the fuck????

That part in the last episode of Shirobako where a staffer has to drive like crazy to get the episode materials over to the TV station in time for the broadcast wasn't just made up out of nothing.

The episode of Paranoia Agent where the stress of cranking out the episode of anime on time kills off the entire staff one by one.

Frieren question. I dunno if this is spoilery or not? I'm only up to ep5 so far.
Did I miss why everyone calls Heiter a "corrupt priest." Or do they just call him that instead of calling him a drunk?

If you're going into it expecting that, you're gonna be disappointed. It's a detective/drama series set in Faux Late Medieval China.

The 'detective' is Maomao, a young apothecary who just wants a quiet life inventing remedies and poisoning herself For Science. Unfortunately, she gets kidnapped into the imperial concubines' palace, and then keeps getting distracted by all these nobles and concubines who either get themselves sick or ask for her expertise and deduction skills.

Watching Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The ending of episode one genuinely surprised me.

EDIT: I have no idea where this is going now and I am intrigued.

EDIT 2: Spoilers for the premise of the show (which is not what you probably think it is):
Ramona meets with her exes one at a time to find Scott's whereabouts after someone faked his death in battle with the first evil ex, Matthew Patel.

EDIT 3: Episode 7 major spoilers:
It's a stealth sequel! Basically Rebuild of Scott Pilgrim.

A corrupt priest is a pretty standard Japanese term / character archetype. It's in the sense of someone who still belongs to the Buddhist priest class, but who doesn't resist earthly pleasures like alcohol or sex. It's used derisively, but not usually really as a condemnation, the way like a fallen priest in Catholicism falling into sin would be viewed. As long as he's not actually corrupt corrupt the people like knowing that hey these priests aren't actually so hoity toity holy as they claim.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation pulled a similar stunt.
The world is almost destroyed in the first episode, and in the process He-Man and Skeletor are both killed.

Our heroes (and one of our villains) go through literal hell in order to reach the Kingdom of Heaven, to get Adam back.

Skeletor also finds his own way back, because of course he does. ;)

This seems like a good example of bad spoiler tag usage.
While one does not reveal what bold choice they had for the title character it's still leading somewhere in the open, then the next post is unspoilered talk of a show you might already be familiar with and say it did similar? Just put all the sensitive brand new show talk under the tag, or specify an episode.

Sorry, I was trying to head off the "but I've already seen/read it before why would they make it again so pointless" argument (aka a discussion I've already had with a friend about this exact show a week ago) in as vague a way as possible before it happened.

I'll throw my thoughts behind a tag.

Daijin is a shit, but also mostly wanted to experience the world and didn't really seem to fully comprehend the issues with it's actions. Once it realizes everything going down, and the potential ramifications, it takes up it's role willingly again.

Okay, after watching the first two episodes of Scott Pilgrim
    Yeah, you spoiled it, Goatmon.

I am a little surprised though, I thought the conceit in the Scott Pilgrim world was that when people are defeated in battle they just respawn at their last save point. At least in the comics? I might have to re-read them.

Anyhow, Matthew Patel taking over the League is certainly interesting, I really don't have much of a clue as to where they are taking the story now.
