Just talking about the anime. :P
Ideally you should have read the comic and watched the movie first
Becomes a sweet and wholesome romance manga about two awkward dorks slowly letting themselves admit their feelings.
There's actual personal growth of the two main, and the romance angle doesn't move at a glacial pace.
I'm honestly shocked every chapter how much I enjoy it.

This is fantastic news, given that it pretty much seemed like what was going to happen was a bunch of unclaimed original film from countless productions that was in Tokyo Lab’s possession (they were the premiere company for processing film for movies and television in Japan) was just going to go in the trash. Toho taking charge is a very welcome development (no pun intended)
Expect problems like that happen more often from this point in the story forward.
I think it is true that you need to first love something in order to hate it - I really loved JJK at one point, and now I am very close to hating it, because thinking about the story is more often than not pissing me off.
It actually managed to hit harder than the manga and piss me off even more
I agree, which is why I am so frustrated with storytelling decisions here.
At least, eh, animation and music and vibes are still very nice?
In the manga you see her losing the eye, which makes you think that it's an incredibly surviveable injury and there's no way she'd actually die from that.
While in the anime it's shown from behind, so it looks like her whole head got blasted and her chances are slim to none.
Some ones that haven't got mentioned yet (skipping a bunch of ones which are just "people eat different food each chapter", and romcoms, because there's just be too many of those if I started down that path)
mushi-shi also. slightly spooky but mostly chill time with nature spirits in feudal japan.
Hyouka. I cannot recommend Hyouka more strongly!
I feel like MHA isn't fair, since that's ongoing. Also Black Clover maybe be still ongoing, I don't know?

Miornie's dad shields her from harm and is not quite dead yet?
Suletta has a crazy fan who is also a witch.
And hey, Suletta kinda went crazy herself. That end credits stinger where she just splats a dude with the Mecha hand. Just.. damn.
I'm gonna have to let this one sit a bit I think.

This is also why I love Undead Unluck so much, because it seems like a complete JJK antithesis when it comes to the tone and the way it treats the characters.

I do not believe that author cares about characters, he cares about fights. He gave Itadori a boring power, so he cannot be used in cool fights, so into the trash of story relevance he goes.
Another example is

God, the hate if flowing through my veins when I think about the story of this series, looking at it with a hindsight.
You ain't wrong. It's wild given the strong dynamics between the main three, and well, where we are now.
In conclusion, read Akane-Banashi
