Wait, really? Like, he's gonna be talking to himself a lot during battles? Well...we'll see how long I can put up with it.
Then what are we watching it for? Serious question.

Not just him. Everyone. Everywhere. All the time.
The animation and music, and some fun characters.
I can't stand it either. I'll take sarcastic quips and banter any day. They're not even mutually exclusive.
That sounds like torture. Think I'll go ahead and step out now then. I remember absolutely hating Naruto after they'd do like 30 seconds of action and then 5-minutes of breakdown of what just happened and the 5-D chess involved.
If y'all are serious about Demon Slayer being that x10, it will not appeal to me at all.

I like the show, but yeah, that schtick gets old super fast, even if the animation is as high octane as it gets.
Amazing that Sailor Stars is still one of the few shows where the villain is smart enough to leave while the hero is monologuing.
Yes.
It's more panicking than chess a lot of the time.
I find that extremely easy to believe, as that clip was not impressive to me in the slightest.
There's definitely ways to phrase this that come off as less goosey and less shitting on what other people enjoy, dood.

Re: Demon Slayer - it bluntly is pretty visuals, good music, and that's about it. It's a solid throw it on in the background series or similar. It's popcorn, basically - fun, easy to digest, etc.
If that's what you're in the mood for then it's a good series. If you'd rather something with more meat, then it'll let you down

And as for watching Demon Slayer... like, don't get me wrong, I don't think the writing and especially the characters are particularly bad unlike some people here, but if you're used to watching shonen fight anime the only thing amazing thing about Demon Slayer is the production. I don't quite get why the manga got so popular in Japan but I'm also not Japanese. If I'd guess it's popularity over there has something to do with the setting.
It reminds me of trying to read the two towers as a kid, getting interrupted, and losing my place in the horribly formatted and dense text of those small paperbacks and literally reading the same paragraph over and over again, not realizing I’d already read it, getting frustrated when it hit, then repeating until I finally gave up.
What I like about it is that it tells a story, continues, reaches a climax, has a conclusion, and ends. And that's it, story told. It could have continued for a zillion chapters (the manga was hugely popular as well) but it didn't.
I respect this.

I have read significantly worse popular shonen. I don't really think it deserves massive pushback. Feels like its just being done because its popular than because it really deserves it.
Specifically, the episode Hinokami was a top 5 global trending on Twitter, and it absolutely exploded after that. What a weekend that was.
I also already liked the Demon Slayer manga before the anime came out. The manga was already in the final arc when the anime premiered. I actually remember the chapter with the promo page for the anime the week it came out, because it's my favorite chapter in the series, and one of my favorite chapters of any series ever.
Last arc spoilers:
I watched season 1 and yeah, that guy is the worst character trope ever. It’s never good and I wish authors would stop it.
I didn’t see a reason to continue past that point. I got enough good animation and fights to sate me.
It sure is pretty though.
Zenitsu, right?
Like, if there's another character that's worse than Zenitsu I almost don't wanna know.
They can't be worse than Happosai.
...right?
Also watching the climax of episode 3 again was great
If there is one then I don't know who.
I kind of like that it keeps doubling down on a lot of villains being sniveling cowards.
After the most recent incarnation of Slayers decided to introduce a fucking Pokemon as a member of the main party, I'm not sure I want it to return again.
