That's really dissapointing about gen:LOCK. I liked the first season.
RWBY, I'm conflicted on. The early animation (when Monty was still the show runner) was not great. The fight animation and choreography was superb, which was Monty's specialty. It didn't have much else going for it beyond that though, if I'm being honest. The story was fine and the main team all had good chemistry. After Monty's passing, the writers that took it over have seemed to have not had much experience working on a show like it before. I think it makes the show slightly mid, because plotlines feel disjointed at times. I know it's said that they had a tone of notes from Monty on how he'd thought the show should go, but it sometimes seems like stuff is not organically flowing from past things. Animation looks better now and the action scenes are still good.
Jaune's arc (heh) is the most straightfoward hero-protoganist of the show and he's a good character for that. even if he isn't my favorite.
RWBY has spawned some good fanfics I love a lot though. >.>
:P
I'm "kupiyupaekio" on Discord.
I didn’t actually know this and skipped it because I thought it would just be more SAO and I was basically over that after the original show (also because of everything about the second season)
Yeah, SAO is trash.
GGO is actually good.
maybe once i stop pressing my fingers into my temples
in the meantime here is a helpful visual aid i have prepared
g reco: "I'm a genius!"
also g reco: "oh no!"
seriously though congrats for making it through
I watched the first twelve episodes and had to tap out back in the day
somewhere in the middle of my watchthrough i was like, "well, the pacing really is breakneck and feels more compilation-y than usual but i suppose 50 episodes is a lot to ask of even a 5-movie adaptation"
dear reader, i looked it up and the Reconguista in G anime is 26 episodes
"no we will not explain anything. you will watch and simply bask in awe"
"oh no!"
A totally normal Japanese High School
Asta was done so dirty by that voice. He actually comes across as charming in the manga.
Agreed. I straight up could not get through the first episode of the show without switching over to the English dub. Which isn't bad voice-wise, actually!
anime has taught me that you are correct
But anyway if you want a character from Black Clover who's actually of comparable shittiness to Zenitsu it's Gauche.
I am told he screams less as the show goes on but I did not wait around to find out
The name of last week's chapter review got me good to "Adam Sandler can't fool me Ive seen click"
It's coming back as a quarterly, not a monthly. As ot when that is ???

This. I couldn't even get through 3 episodes, which is my threshold for giving a show a chance. The person who recommended it to me said the same thing about it getting better, but I couldn't handle his screaming.
Dang, does the author have whatever the D-Grayman author does?
Ah shit, forgot about that.
I wonder if US Jump is going to treat it like they do D.Grayman and only update releases on a per volume basis instead of releasing quarterly simulpub.
By teh way they just added more DGM chapters and god I missed that manga so much.
Dandadan takes advantage of this so they can use landscape panels / info dumps / fancier panels that don't necessarily show the face of the speaker. It's really neat!
I think the more common version is to just draw the character's face in the corner of the bubble instead of their whole head (assuming the artstyle allows them to be recognizable with just that).
Suletta Mercury's VA from Witch from Mercury (Kana Ichinose) is also Fern in Frieren
Wow, that's some range.
also the elf that aforementioned character has to manage is voiced by... Mamiko Noto (Prospera Mercury)
You wanna know something that's also really cool? Suletta's English VA (Jill Harris) also voices Fern
