Mmmmmmm...
Depends if he got the shadow powers before or after volume seven.
The shadows aren't stated to literally be the same as the things he kills to make them, they're more like copies. So it's... debatable, at least early on. It is very funny that my slight praise is in fact debatable though, this genre is just bad to the core.
Our guesses for the number of seasons? I say >7, or "enough to cover the whole story". It's been in the top 4 favorite anime on animetrendz since it first aired 7 weeks ago. Shit's popular, yo.
(it is deffo covering to the end of volume 2; there's a moment in the trailer that shows a scene from its epilogue.)
I'll speak in favor of Moonlit Fantasy. (The anime.) It's obvious wish-fulfillment fan-serviced isekai trash, but fun trash, and one of the better examples of the genre. (I don't remember any objectionable elements, but it's been a few years.)
I'm a big fan of the manga. The anime is ok.
The protag blessedly doesn't want to bone anyone. He doesn't want to slay the demon king or level up or anything really. A breath of fresh air in the genre.
What even were the cool things this season before I need to figure out a next season of things
Frieren
And that's all I know of because it's the only one I've watched this season
That one in particular has the concept of everybody being "blessed" with a class/job by the world's goddess, and by gaining levels they can increase the power of that blessing. Standard fantasy gaming world right?
Well, it brings up an interesting question about the mechanics of that. Regardless of the blessing a person has, there's only one way to gain EXP to level up: by killing something. Doesn't matter if someone has a blessing for Chef and someone else has a blessing for Warrior, they both have to kill creatures of near-equivalent difficulty to their own level. Naturally this means those with combat-type blessings tend to be higher level compared to people without, which in turn influences society to place a heavier favor on combat blessings over the others. Nobles will actually hire people to party up with them and kill monsters so they can increase their levels safely, especially for leadership-type blessings. A lot of regular people without combat blessings may not even increase their level at all during their life.
Minor story bits here, nothing too specific and all very early on
And then there's the really powerful blessings, the rarest of the rare like Hero. Right from the get-go these blessings are strong enough to warp the person holding it in a way that makes them more archetypes than actual classes. The Hero's blessing, for example, removes the holder's ability to feel any emotions so they can't get scared and run away, even if they're in danger of dying. It also removes their ability and need for sleep. And remember how I said the blessings don't rise to the level of mind control? That's not the case for these types. The Hero literally is not allowed to kill anyone in her party regardless of what they've done. Very early on you learn that the current Hero nearly killed the Sage by obliterating his guts in an instant, however her blessing then hijacked her and forcibly used her healing powers to fix all the physical damage. Because the Sage is part of the Hero's Party and that's how things are, regardless of what kind of person is inhabiting the role.
It's an okay story all in all, but I read it mostly because of how it's doing something a bit different with the usual mechanics like that.
Apothecary diaries and Frien are the big ones. There's also Shangri-La Frontier which is a fun time, The farawat Paladin: Lord of the rust mountains,, undead unluck's having an anime adaptation over at hidive, those are the main things I can think of right now

Latest ep:
And there's MF Ghost, which just has one viewer, far as I can tell.
Yeah I honestly need to go find a recap or something for s1 i remember only a few weird broad strokes and I guess watch the movie.
I could summarize what's happened in a paragraph and you'd be good probably.
The most memorable thing from S1 is probably the main bad guy in the second half and the training arc, since it introduces some of the best characters.
I meant if anime only watchers want to guess how the current mysteries end so in a week or 2 we could come back and see how close they got.
It also deftly balances action, drama, romance, and comedy, often all in one episode.
Everything with Stark and Fern was cute, but the dancing was breathtaking. It's very hard to get the flutter of clothing like that to look good.
The emotional beats continue to be excellent week after week, all the same subdued style. Still almost certainly anime of the year, and this was a banner year.
Crunchyroll answered my question. One more episode next week, then a 2 week break, then we're right back in it. Very nice to hear.
Fern: "This is hell."
Frieren: "I'm going to eat cake."
We have to wait until OCTOBER for Dandadan??
One of the animators posted lineart of that scene on their Twitter
What follows is my guess and also spoilers for the adaptation:
It also ends pretty soundly such that there can be no Dark Tournament as we remember it. Sakyo is implied to have killed himself, Karasu is dead, Elder Toguro’s a head without the rest of his parts nearby to put himself back together, Gui is a giant full body third degree burn and Toguro is ash and walking the spiral path down to the Worst Hell.
But then there was a lot more Dark Tournament than just Team Toguro, so what do you do with that?
Well… Yu Yu Hakusho does have two tournament arcs, the latter of which, at least by the manga, is on the shorter side compared to how the anime expanded on it.
My guess then is if they get enough seasons, Dark Tournament, sans Team Toguro, gets melded with the Three Kings tournament.
Between those, I could see Season 2 being Maze Castle, which was also skipped right out aside from the Makai insects, Season 3 adapting Chapter Black, and then Season four capping off the series with an amalgam of Dark Tournament and Three Kings’ Makai Budotai as the focus
This allows for fairly short, focused adaptations of the series, while still hitting all the high points, fitting the story into what may wind up being, well, twenty to thirty episodes max.
It's actually Murdered Soul Suspect which I'm not expected to be good (it's also like 2$)
I've been meaning to play Ghost Trick I always forget about it so I'm deffon gonna do thay
wait was that scene all traditionally animated? I thought for sure it was 3D animated. Maybe they traced over 3D animated figures?
https://macross2.animeigo.com/
According to the animator on twitter it was reference vids only, no 3D or mocap. Scrolling through their media tab shows them doing a few of the more detailed guitar strumming scenes from Bocchi as well, so it looks like they're pretty experienced with that kind of complicated hand/limb animation.
Since so many studios freelance out work, and there are a ton of animators on twitter (MAPPA famously recruits a hundreds of freelancers by literally just DMing them on twitter, I remember that coming up one or two "MAPPA working conditions suck ass" scandals ago), I presume it's just a good industry practice to let them advertise their work + it also works as advertising for the show.
that is SUPER SUPER impressive!
e: or wait does he mean live reference as in rotoscoping or live reference that he looked at and freehanded?
Impressive either way but if that was freehanded I'm in awe
Also really love looking back at the "controversy" that bandai made for themselves. The marriage wasn't subtext, they had rings on their fingers and everything. Just wild shit.
Anyway, that was pretty alright!
