The latest chapter of 100 Girlfriends was a fun focus on Ako and had a big reference to the anime and also a tiktok video.
At one point, Ako and Rentaro dance and sing a "popular song she recently heard" which is just the OP for the anime, and the dance they are doing is one that the VAs for Hakari and Karane did for the song in a tiktok video.

I'm watching the One Piece show on Netflix. Is Usopp absolutely insufferable in the anime / manga? He feels like he'd be the insufferable character. Also I already forget the cook's name but is he the comedic sexual assault character?

Usopp isn’t that bad in the manga/anime, certainly not after a while.

Sanji read is dead on tho. Hate that character trope. Even if I like Sanji’s overall character, the trope itself drives me up a wall whenever it’s brought to the forefront.

I'm not a One Piece person, but my understanding is that Usopp was the basis for this video:

Usopp has so many absolutely amazing moments, token coward is not his shtick.

The cook does not commit sexual Assault as far as I remember.

Sanji is too horny, but I don’t recall him ever groping anyone.

Sorry, probably was too aggressive in my description. I meant the token "obsessed with women and being interested in every woman they come across" character. I guess I can see Usopp being the coward character but surprised they don't drag that personality trait way over the line given One Piece is one of the earliest anime's of this type.

Usopp is, to some degree, the straight man for the nonsense powers everyone else is flinging about. He's justified in being scared, for sure. But he invariably pulls himself together when it matters.

There's a sex pest villain in a horror themed arc who kidnaps Nami and wants to marry her against her will. This villain's power is invisibility. Sanji comes to his teammate's rescue, but also openly lusts after that power and how he could potentially use it to be a sex pest himself. This aspect is one of the worst things in the series, yes.

Yeah, he has a great bit even within the timeline of the Netflix show; I forget how exactly it goes on Netflix but
Him getting the fishman he's fighting away from the group, going "Okay now I could just play dead and pretend I lost the fight and nobody would know", and then getting up and fighting the guy anyway is a very classic "coward who fights anyway" moment

That and the one bit in the Wano arc (spoilers obviously)
Sanji gets a power of invisibility through One Piece type-BS and then goes and peeps on women in a bathhouse. That it then turns out he was present to foil some attacks by the villain group of that arc does not at all absolve him of being a sex pest and a voyeur.

It's really not a good look. at all.

Sanji is not a great character, but he's better balanced than other sex pest trope characters. I just wish he didn't have that at all. Keep the doting lover-boy Casanova stuff, that's fine/ If a bit cringe, but that's absolutely a personal opinion.

Even Pokemon started getting tired of that trope with Bock. By the last season he was around for they started just having a Croagunk pop up and poison jab him in the stomach whenever he started hitting on women, almost as if to try to reinforce to kids "Don't try this at home, it won't end well."

Metallic Rouge's first episode was fairly good, but the script was almost entirely a weird mix of people giving unnecessary exposition, and incomprehensible exposition. I'd expect that to improve in future episodes, or at least feel a little more focused. It's definitely doing the very standard cyberpunk androids as an exploited lower class, except for these unique ones which have sentai transformations, magical powers, and kung fu fight to maintain/rebel against the caste system.

Sanji is frustrating because for a long time, he’s pretty damn cool. Like he may be a simp, but he’s ultimately respectful and just flirts. He does a shitload of cool shit and comes in clutch for the group over and over again, and his chivalry is depicted as a weakness.

Then Thriller Bark happens and suddenly he’s a sexpest and he goes from a simp to aggressively horny.

It takes him from one of the best Strawhats to being the worst one for a long, long time. Then he finally gets to be a better character in Full Cake Island again, before going back to sexpest in Wano again.

Usopp on the other hand, is the best. I think he, Nami, Robin, and Luffy are my favs.

Sex pest characters as part of the heroes is one of the low key more annoying things on anime. Yes, MHA, that's with you.

Is, like, people want a Kuno or a Happosai as a source of conflict (and a way to give women lines without those pesky things like writing a personality), but they don't get that they were villains that everybody hated, and the former got away with it because he was rich and the latter was one of the most powerful characters of the series.

Pretty sure that I've written that rant on a previous iteration of this thread.

I kinda liked Sanji in the netflix one piece a lot. He's flirty and would be endearingly so except his timing is terrible, but he didn't give me the same sex pest vibes that anime Sanji does thank fuck

Jujutsu is about using the opponent's force against them. Yuji has yet to show any kind of cursed technique, but we've seen some hints or glimpses over the last bit. His technique will be like Yuta's Copy -- stealing and using opponents' (or friends) techniques against them. And he got it because it's Sukuna's technique.
I like my theory that the finger he couldn't find is the one that the two school girls had.

Fucking LOL on Bang Bravern. I had to go back to the site to check that myself and then go back to the Wayback Machine to see what it was a week ago.

But yes. The first like 19 minutes of the episode was like it advertised itself. A 'serious' kind of Independence Day, with mechs. And then
A fucking toy robot appears out of nowhere, corny 80s music kicks in at full blast, and all of a sudden all the seriousness goes out the window and it's all super robot poses.
