If anything I think the more dangerous a world is, the less restrictive it should be in terms of entry levels into organizations that are akin to adventurer guilds. Because the world's already dangerous so clearly it would be much better to properly train as many people as possible in hopes some will survive and grow. The world of HxH may be dangerous, but in my opinion the Hunter Association itself is a big reason why it's such a shit world to live in.
I want to imagine they were playing the song into the studio during recording
Well, at least one of those "losses" her opponent ended up sealed still. I don't think she has a lot of competition in pure power, she's emphasizing that she can be beaten with technique. Anyone trying to overpower her with magic... well, we know how that ends already.
I assume some of those losses came in the distant past too. (Flamme is probably one of them, and maybe a couple others from that time frame)

I think the series has made it clear it's okay to trust Frieren's words. She's a straight shooter.
edit: uh, i guess the video may have spoilers for the full anime so maybe only listen if you don't want to be spoiled? i never read the manga so i can only guess
it's good
“Shoot down that flag.”
Despite the fact that Isami is the pilot, and so you’d think the viewpoint character, it’s Lewis who gives the intro and outro narration, and is entirely about how all his life what he wanted to be was a hero, an ally of justice (the latter being given directly over a shot of Bravern gently floating back down to the surface).
And plus Bravern shows up in the knick of time to save Isami from taking a blast head on, and knows his name, telling him his wait is over.
Even more:
"I understand all too well the enemies Robin faces"
Especially when
I wish usopp were there, he would've really appreciated how cool sogeking is
When I watched it originally, it was "Sogeking, make that flag burst into flames." (Or disappear. I think it's been lost to the internet).
I love it. I hope this series goes on for 10 seasons.

Well, to be fair, it's got a handful of jokes. One or two per character, usually. But it keeps reusing them and never does anything particularly interesting with its premise.
One Punch Man tries to do satire about awful workplaces and Mashle tries to do serious stuff about accepting minorities, but unfortunately Mashle just doesn't land it as well as it could.
I do respect a manga that ends, though.
Sometimes simple is best.
I liked Mashle all the way to the end because it was good, and that's that really. None of this "oh but if you do a deep analysis on its comedic value" it's fucking Mashle this isn't Shakespeare. Sometimes you just wanna lol at the punchy man.
