A 16-year-old was killed while working at a poultry planet in Mississippi.
OSHA cited Mar-Jac with 14 serious and three other-than-serious violations. They include allegations that the company didn’t protect workers from the unexpected start of machinery, often called lockout/tagout procedures, and failed to ensure there were barriers to prevent workers from entering machinery danger zones.

In addition to Mar-Jac, OSHA also opened an inspection of Onin Staffing LLC of Birmingham, Ala., a firm OSHA said “employed” the teenager at the poultry plant. An OSHA spokesperson said the agency didn’t cite Onin.

Federal investigations of the death are ongoing. A statement from the US Labor Department said the agency’s Wage and Hour Division, which enforces child labor laws, has an open on investigation into the matter.

It has been proposed that the company pay a $212,646 fine. I am sure this will solve the issue-
In the past decade, OSHA has inspected Mar-Jac’s five plants in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi a total of 23 times, OSHA enforcement records show. Three of the inspections followed a worker’s death. OSHA issued citations 10 times with current fines totaling $102,984.

    Ah, well, nevertheless.

A fine is just a price. There need to be actual penalties faced by those calling the shots.

Even worse, If the fine is less than the profit made by the infraction; it’s just a tax. And not even a high one, by the looks of it.

As I said, it's a price. One literally factored into recommendations by corporate lawyers and accountants when advising executives on how to run their companies.

So what you're saying is... (Bravern)
This show is trying to answer the age-old question of "is it masturbation for your future robot self to get it on with you?" with "no, it's incest"?

    Jokes aside (Bravern)
I'm seeing parallels between this and G1 Transformers. The aliens being sentient inorganic lifeforms with the purple ones being evil invaders (and having an underwater base) and the red and white one defending the natives out of principle and authentic attachment.

    Frieren 19
Yeah. I really liked how it slowly revealed the plan to the viewer, at just the right pace. In theory, it was a very exposition-heavy episode of what Friren's party was up to, but they spaced it nicely with Fern's party and the reactions of others. (Also, the show had already given all the needed clues to figure out the plan before it started getting explained, which is good)

Also, I love how badly Fern is being underestimated. Again. It seems humans are just as quick to misjudge her as the demons.

Frieren episodes feel really short when they're fast paced, like 19 was. Dying for the next part already...

(And I just found out today that Komi Can't Communicate already had season 2 and I never heard a peep about it, anywhere... Have to go back and check that out soon.)

Fern getting underestimated stems from two points:

One, she looks like a 17-18 year old woman (because, well, she is), and that causes people to forget that she's Frieren's apprentice and daughter in all but name, who has spent most of her life training under one of the most powerful mages in existence. Turns out that sort of training has...repercussions.

Two, because her training has been under the school of Frieren and Flamme, part of that training was to suppress her mana to the point that it is second nature to her - so unlike a lot of other mages, her actual power level can't be read on first glance. Which is the entire point of that training, because it's meant to play demonic pride against itself, as demons cannot comprehend that someone would intentionally suppress their power due to their own culture.

So Bjorn is a self centered dick, we get that, and early on in the round table he needs to impress people to get them to get useful information. We get that, and an arc of the story is him getting to be less of a dick, but he's still a dick.

Later on, we find out that the resurrection stone requires a body. So the hope he gave crescent moon was always completely false. Which like...yeeeesh.

It's actually used as a point of growth and everyone else at the table is also "what the fuck, man?" but that one bugs me a hell of a lot more than it probably should
Oof, yeah, that one hurts, but I feel like that’s not entirely Bjorn’s fault? I mean, IIRC he originally brings up the stone as just an obscure bit of info he knows, unaware that any of the Round Table have a personal interest in it. Him continuing to dangle it as a carrot afterward isn’t cool, but I’d judge him more harshly if he’d somehow known about Crescent before ever mentioning it. Plus, needing the body feels like a pretty reasonable requirement, and the sort of thing that Crescent should’ve maybe asked about sooner if he doesn’t have access to it.

    Also, unrelated Barbarian talk:
I’ve been meaning to mention that I loved the horror movie esque reveal of what kind of person Auril Gavis really is. Based on the earlier mentions of him and general genre habits, I was expecting the typical kindly old wizard type who only has good intentions, with the novel glossing over all the harm he’s causing by involuntarily ripping people out of their world. So for Bjorn to confront him about it, followed by the reveal that he’s basically a sociopath who couldn’t care less, was a great twist.

Fern is my favorite in Frieren because she and Frieren act a lot like my neice and I do( almost to much to be honest)
Which has meant I had to mute most of the anime art accounts I follow because people like her for other reasons

The comic and anime seem so not interested in sexualizing anyone it honestly weirds me out when I happen to see someone did erotic fan art of the characters

My gut feeling is it's more like the more popular a piece of media is the more fan art gets made about it, and then some proportion of that tends to be erotic, but the proportion depends a lot on how sexual the original media is and how much the characters appeal to the people in a sexual way.

On average fanworks trend towards focusing on scenarios the source material doesn't touch on much, which is why you get horny fanworks for wholesome stuff and wholesome fanworks for horny stuff.

It's pretty simple really. If someone wants to see a character in lewd situations from decidedly NSFW series(such as Gushing Over Magical Girls), they can just watch/read that series. Plenty of content for them.

Whereas, if someone wants to lewd a character from a purely SFW/non-sexualized series, then it's all do-it-yourself and off to the fanarts, fanfic, and doujins for them.
