There's also the factor that in the original book, the toons are comic strip characters instead of cartoon characters.

Among other differences, like they can't speak without considerable effort and otherwise generate speech bubbles to communicate (which are photographed when creating the comic strips), they aren't invincible and can be killed just as easily as humans, and they can generate temporary stunt doubles to take the fatal hits for them in comic strips.
Also there's no Judge Doom (an evil genie is the main villain), Jessica Rabbit hates Roger instead of loving him, Roger actually did commit the murder he's accused of, and Roger Rabbit dies early on in the book.

The sequel book ignores most of that and retcons things to be closer to the movie.

Mr. Rogers famously claims that he kept his weight at 143 lbs because 143 means "I love you" (based on the number of letters in each word, 1-4-3) and it was a nice message to get each morning when he stepped on the scale.

In Japan, it is currently the 14th of March (or 14-3), and Oshi no Ko just released chapter 143 and--

One question I ask new grad/intern candidates is "what's the difference between a 400 series and a 500 series HTTP error?"
The answer is, basically, "who fucked up?" - 400 errors are user errors, while 500 errors are server errors.

Also, people who return 404 for a search response with no entries need to have their fingers broken.

Also, 53 (DNS) is important too.

I watched a video essay on youtube on the Pinky Violence fad in Japanese grindhouse cinema in the 1970s. Tough, delinquent young women who dressed modestly or in uniforms but carried spiked bats and chains and beat the hell out of rivals. Gogo from Kill Bill was an homage but what about in anime? I assume Maid Wars is related to Pinky Violence but what else is there?

    Oshi no ko chapter 143:
Oh, so we're not beating the twincest allegations at all, huh? Aka x Mengo are twisted together.
It does seem to be trying to fill out some sort of bingo card of "story elements we could very much do without".

"So, what if, like, a 14-year-old girl had the hots for a 40-year-old man?"

    nope, that's no good.

"But what if, say, they were also twin brother and sister?"

THAT JUST MAKES IT WORSE, UGH

(also, aside from the general awfulness there, I've been finding the recent chapters really confusing because I have a hard time keeping up with which bits of story are what's happening in "the real world" -vs- what's happening in the movie)

It is kinda funny that everyone was praising the author for their progressive view of romance in Kaguya (avoiding BS fanservice, etc), but now HE'S JUST LIKE THE REST.

oh, its not that I don't think it won't get further adaptation, but I want them to take all the time they need with it. clearly a lot of work went into this. I hope they don't get pulled into rushing out anything and the quality slips.

edit: I also don't want to see the mangaka get burnt out trying to churn out content either. the show's covered roughly half of the published manga atm

    Bravern 10
So Isami and Smithvern die right after this, but adult Lulu develops time travel to go back in time to now to force Superbia to let her use him in robot marriage to fight together to save both. With blushing giant robot and magical girl transformation sequence.

Not sure anybody had that on their bingo cards.

Future Lulu pulling a Future Trunks, albeit by projecting her consciousness back into her body into the past/series’ present rather than going physically there

Future Miyu also giving strong Future Bulma vibes
