Apparently the JP dub in Japan was different than the global one, or so I've heard.
A simple exit of the dungeon what a fine circular story
Looking at the spring season, I only see a tiny handful that immediately jump out to me so it might be a good time to tackle some of the backlog.
Also Loser Ranger is going to be on Disney+ for some reason?
What, seriously? That's terrible news.
Yeah, this ain't no Quint Quints. Completely different tone.

That being said, season two ends with a "what happened next" immediately after the season one endpoint, and kind of teases continuing story content from the manga?
2. Episode 10: "Aura, kill yourself."
3. Episode 10: "As they deceive humans with words, so shall you deceive them with your mana."
Episode 17: Stark and Frieren have a heart to heart while looking for medicine for Fern.
Kana Ichinose (Fern)
2. Episode 26: Fern vs. The Prehistoric Toddler
3. Episode 3: A meaningful gift from master to apprentice - and mother to daughter.
Chiaki Kobayashi (Stark)
2. Episode 11: Hot (literally) Kraft on Stark action.
3. Episode 15: Yup, The Dance, Are You Really Surprised?
Nobuhiko Okamoto (Himmel)
2. Episode 28: Pointing out that saying goodbye winds up being embarrassing if you meet again, so best not to.
3. Episode 1: A 50 year promise kept.
Making a show about animators.
Way to read the room, guys. Or is this supposed to be a PR attempt? Like if Amazon released a movie about how great it is to work in their warehouses?
If people thought it was evil for Mappa to cut a single line of dialogue in Chainsaw Man about being in a union, I think they should feel much more strongly about them choosing to do a show about an animator who crunches a lot and single-handedly carries productions. Because... that's just kind of horrible for them, specifically.
"Oh I got kidnapped, ah well"
"Now I'ma run this joint"
Also, Berserk get. How's the dub?
Re:Zero Season 3.
I just wish that the character designs were not so Extremely Anime
The combo of DanMeshi, Frieren, and rewatching Record of Lodoss War has made me so incredibly happy to finally be free of isekai fantasy for a little bit

Also the Dragon King is Lloyd's idol in laziness.
Spoilers for Episodes 1-12.
Interesting show at least. Rather more of it than goddamned cheat power RPG worlds. Wish Isami had more actual development. He really seemed stuck in doing the same thing over and over until he got the inverse-haircut/fusion with his boyfriend, but he got that (minus hair style change) every other episode already.
I've been watching Shangri-La Frontier. It's definitely one of the highlights of this season and the last. And that's despite the premise being a turn-off for me. "What if a video game was good? And one young man had the courage to PLAY that game?" That's seriously it. Like, even Bofuri's charm wore off after the first season (for me). Shangri-La even has some of my anime vr-game pet peeves: unique quests and power ups, and improbably charming npcs.
But Frontier just kinda makes up for that by being badass, all the time. I don't know why some anime exec thought they'd throw all their resources into THIS show but dammit it works. Our smug gamer protagonists have cool and funny banter while treking through beautiful environments. And really well animated fights. I don't think the show works unless the fights are cool but dammit, they are. And the bits where they play unpolished, glitchy, bargain-bin VR games are the real gem. Oh, and there's also a really badass surprise musical number, we'll just throw that in, no big deal.
The musical moment. Happens pretty late so I guess spoilers? But nooot really.
@Jragghen I've fallen thoruhgly in love with SLF and have been cherrily keeping up with the manga - Was delighted at the recent humble bundle that let me get a bunch of the volumes legit.
The main thing about SLF is from the manga up, it gets why games are fun. It's not afraid to show other games, and show why people love them. And you can see why people would fall in love wiht the world of SLF.
it also helps the characters are well written - for all that Sunraku is an inhuman game playing machine, he's also Very Human, he's not unstoppable, he gets hilariously owned (Bird poop incident), some of his strategies are just wacky, and it's played up that he's an absoloute werido.
It really also helps the stakes are low - it's practically slice of life, people just wanna have a really cool time in a game. Makes it a delight.
