While I understand this and agree with it in general, there are stories that give up grabbing you immediately to patiently build up the world and characters until everything you thought was boring turns out to be retroactively deeply meaningful. This is one of those shows that requires investment to grab many people. I'm aware many people were interested from the start, but from what I've seen the amount of people who have said "It took me a while to get into this but my patience was rewarded" is not small. It's worth pointing that out as an exception to arbitrary "hard limits".
(As an aside, of the shows I've watched in my life, I'd actually put the hard limit at episode 5, where the first major conflict usually climaxes, sometimes completely unexpectedly at the start of that episode.)
In any case, there's nothing wrong with informing people of how long it takes for a more patient methodical show to reach the point most people who love it truly started to get invested. At least they know there's more to it, and if they want to give up before then it is up to them.
I have a topical example: My favourite novel explicitly starts "wrong". It starts with like 15 pages of pure telling the reader exposition and world building to establish the character and worlds initial setup, but after that methodical countdown it explodes like a rocket launch and never stops firing until the ride is over. Those 15 pages were initially a bit hard going, but its now my favourite novel. And now that I've read it, I understand that this setup was required to achieve what they were going for. It was the prelaunch briefing and checklist before all the excitement.
For me, DiD has a similar ask.
If someone feels that way about the initial DiD setup, then that's fair to me.
So does Monster, the simmeriest of slow burn anime.
Generally, I do the 5 episode vibe test as a rule as well. If nothing has grabbed my interest by then, chances are it never will.

I definitely get it when someone says, "It gets better here." But it's on the media to make the reader/viewer to at least want to reach that point.
Yeah, I can see that too.
I think if you aren't vibing with LotGH by at least the tenth episode, the series isn't for you.
It's a weird show.
EDIT: Should be the right gif now; tenor loaded me a different variant instead of the clean one (somehow this one, despite being the preview image on GIS was actually the related gif, and I didn’t scroll enough to see the text placed on the one I did grab)
Fun fact: they made two more unlicensed Hong Kong city hunter movies after that one: Savior of the Soul which is an even more loose adaptation and further in the dramatic direction…
And Mr Mumble

Where the only change really is having the Ryo version as a (former?) HKPD SWAT officer instead of a sweeper
My tires bite into the asphalt

I risk my life on cheap thrills
yet I still fear what tomorrow might bring.
It´s your pain or my pain or
somebody´s pain,
If there is someone you live for,
It´s your dream or my dream or
somebody´s dream.
There is nothing I am afraid of.
Get wild and tough
I can´t solve the puzzle of love alone.
Get wild and tough
There´s no place for weakness in this town.
Get chance and luck
Somewhere there´s got to be something only you can protect.
Get chance and luck
You can go back and fix those broken dreams.
Also, LotGH grabbed me from the jump, but slow burn tactical military scheming action is very much the full extent of my jam.
Girls Band Cry is very, very pretty. I'm glad I listened to people and dropped two really bad CG shows to finally start a good one.
The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester.
Content warnings, but they're presented as bad.
Nobody in it is nice.
I want to be clear that this book is a product of the 50s and I do not empathise with or like any of its characters. That just has almost nothing to do with how I react to a story. I don't need to like any character in a story. I don't need to approve of or relate to or share any values with anyone in it. I don't work that way. You can't glean anything of me from that I keep my real life firmly separate from what I read, and I read very widely.
I just started reading that book, got to a specific page, and my entire day disappeared until I had finished it, and I closed the book in a kind of shock. Even my girlfriend mentioned I had not done anything else, which is normally unusual. I think the main character is a piece of shit. I don't even know why it gripped me that hard. But it did. Calling it my favourite book is probably not the right word to use. But if someone asks me for a book, its going to come up, it just grabbed me that much.
I hope the author is okay and getting all the time they need to heal and rest

No details have been disclosed, but the series just came off a month break.
So it's that or something horrible as the most likely causes, and I'm going to believe it's likely the former

It's more two chapters per three weeks from my experience.
Frieren is theoretically weekly.
