Schedule I. Clearly no accepted medical use. High potential for abuse, because of that one Grey's anatomy where the guy shot himself for the scars as body art.

There's no way that was part of an actual plot of an episode. It's too dumb, I don't want to believe it.

    People actually do this though.

I don't want to believe this. I was happier when I thought is was something dumb the grey's anatomy writers invented.

the VAST majority of people who are into this particular thing just do a blend of tattoos and branding to fake a bullet wound.

There have been more than a few cases though of someone shooting themselves (or getting someone to shoot them) in order to look tough.

It's fucking madness. do not google.

The same rules for safe storage applies to a collection as with hunting and sports shooting and unlike those two, are way more likely to be followed since you wouldn't be taking them out and lugging them around nearly as much

I have looked at some of my old access projects from the mid 90s.

    I am ashamed.

I still have to work on an access project I started in 2004 from time to time and it is miles ahead of my earlier efforts. much more intelligent use of VBA, reusable variable-driven subs as opposed to in-line coding for everything... capturing the resolution of the desktop and then adjusting the interface appropriately.

You can get away with building something at least as good as a VB6 app with access 2003 so long as you are willing to put in the extreme effort.

It's just as weird as hunting or sports shooting?

    They're all just hobbies.

I don't know why it's even really an issue.

If someone has a sword, so what? Are you upset that they have knives in their home?

Worried about an onslaught of sword crime or some shit?

I don't really care if people even have tanks. I'm not really worried about running into them on the freeway or something.

the implied threat posed by collecting swords is communally-culturally dependent, not individual, surely

collecting swords is contextually different if there was a history of sword-wielding pogroms or something

it might not even be something you had notice of when you started the collection. maybe your neighbourhood shifts demographically and now has a bunch of refugees from a place where sword pogroms used to happen. if so then keeping your collection might be construed as a bit of a jerk move

With a tank I'd just be worried about the owner somehow getting shells, firing them for fun, screwing up, and accidentally killing the self or someone else. The vehicle dangers I don't worry about so much. It would be so expensive enough to buy and maintain that it would be way easier to buy like, a giant bulldozer if you want to hit the highway and run over some cars. And that never happens.

People killing themselves with explosives though, that does happen. And just ask myth busters about firing a cannon.

It's not like they live in my house.

Why would that impact me at all if I collected swords? Or rather, why should one care? Why does the shift matter in this context?

So other than political philosophical thinking, it doesn't matter, is what you're saying.

And that no one sat down and tested to make sure it matched the design docs. They just figured no one would ever really use it.
