Enlist for the Legend of Galactic Heroes crew.

I’ve heard great things but can I stream it from my PS4 or do I need to hunch over my laptop?

You can stream is on your PS4 via the VRV app.

finished the new gits sac, by which i mean, i got to the (pretty good) cliffhanger

unfortunately it's kinda hard for me to judge it yet, despite having watched 12 episodes, because it really feels like a mid-season break more than anything. It's hard to say where it's going and if they're gonna stick the landing or not!

that being said, i definitely enjoyed the back half of the season more, where it got into a rhythm and feel that were very "oh yeah, more SAC" in a way that i didn't quite get from the front half. "Batou and four senior citizens get caught up in the first old-school bank robbery in 25 years" was just a real fun time.

the new recurring cast members are... i dunno. a bit too comic relief-y? Prin kind of makes sense (of course the Tachikoma specialist is gonna have some of that Batou adoration and general weirdness rub off on them) but i was definitely a little baffled as to how Stan got onto the team sometimes.
his exit did make me laugh pretty hard at least

in conclusion, sustainable war is a land of contrasts

Yeah I never really got an impression that Standard, uh, had any abilities that actually warranted him hanging out with the crew?

Purin grew on me, mainly because she also played Akko and is very earnest in her eagerness.

SAC_2045 is okay so far. It is just a little weak compared to the original SAC and 2nd GIG.

Admittedly it would have been really hard to live up to that anyway since I rated those two both a 10.

Sooooo a couple episodes in and I’m giving up on Ergo Proxy. The animation is gorgeous but that’s just not enough to keep me hooked, and I have the JJ Abrams hairs on the back of my neck standing up, alerting me to the possibility that none of this is really going anywhere.

I need a new binge-worthy anime. Anime I am very much into: Death Note, Attack on Titan, Promised Neverland, MHA, Cowboy Bebop, Psycho Pass, Monster, Fullmetal Alchemist.

Anime I watched and enjoyed despite some goofy nonsense: Code Geass, Future Diary, Tokyo Ghoul (only the first season), Another.

Anime that is Not For Me: Dragonball, Pokémon, anything where two people fighting charge up their powers and assess their opponent’s prowess for 15 episodes before anybody does anything.

I'll just throw out a recommendation for Durarara!! which I found highly entertaining and the dub is pretty solid. It's got a bunch of interweaving storylines and stuff happens pretty much every episode. I admittedly haven't yet watched the second season, a couple of the new characters didn't click with me but I should give it another chance.

    hi all, pigeon here

I used the unfortunate phrasing "Tachikoma specialist" in my last post, which was an error. There is no way that job can be called anything but "Tachikoma wrangler"

    anyhow, re: Omoshiroi
I have to assume some Obsidian higher-ups vouched for Stan, because the major hadn't met him before episode one and everyone else except maybe Saito seemed indifferent to his continued survival

I've got a severe soft spot for Black Lagoon which admittedly was very much of its time and more than a bit edgelordy and problematic, but I dug the setting and concept a bunch and the action was great. Also, it has a fantastic English dub and it's streaming on Hulu.

Also Hi Score Girl is charming as hell and available on Netflix. Speaking of Netflix, big props to this thread for guiding me towards Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun. I'm working my way through that and it's a complete joy to watch.

Priconne continues to be the best thing I'm watching. The 6th episode was fantastic and had a couple of amazing gags in it. The face washing bit made me laugh hard though that I think I hurt my shoulder.

I usually don't have much of a reaction to things but certain kinds of comedy just get me.

Plunderer anime getting to that Minazuki place. I'd be all about that getting another season.

Been watching Record of Lodoss War (OVA first) when I'm caught up on seasonals and it sure does still hold up. That's some amazing art, design and animations. 30 years hasn't done it much harm.
