I was never in to Naruto but even the little I remember watching has Sasuke being the worst. Like, an impressively unlikable secondary protagonist.

As far as best moments, One Piece basically has one per arc.

    Demon Slayer episode 19, definitely.

Mob Psycho 100: It's okay to run away.

My Hero Academia also usually has one per arc.

Re:Zero the end of episode 15.

Boruto when Naruto and Sasuke team up.

    There's lots!

Read the first omnibus of Gantz.

Okay, what's up with this author and misogyny? Like, jesus, shit is gross.

The author had invested in 3D modeling in a big way as the next big thing in manga, with predictable results - the fallout had him become rather misanthropic as a result.

@AngelHedgie could you expand more on the whole 3d modelling thing with gantz?

it's an anime about medieval economics I think? from the point of view of a merchant who has a minor god/spirit of the harvest in the form of a wolf lady following him around on his merchant travels.

I finished Demon Slayer 13, and while I like the show, I feel like it isn't as... impressive as Ufotable's usual work. Like, none of the background design has taken my breath away like stuff in Garden of Sinners or Fate/Zero did.

    kara_no_kyoukai_1_-_overlooking_view-08-46-underwater-corrosion.jpg

It just feels kind of... rote, so far?

Yeah, It's about a traveling merchant and if the end of Trading Places was your bag this is pretty much the show for you. There's stock market manipulation, exchange rates, taking a gamble on merchandise hoping to sell it for a high price in the next town, light trade politics. I really dig it but do have to give the warning of this show has the trope of a 1000 year old god who takes the form of a like 14 year old girl, who you will see naked.

Spice and Wolf is a good show, but it's definitely a lot more typically anime than LotGH.

Like, I would totally understand someone just noping out after Holo first shows up, even if that is the only time that happens iirc?

I'm just saying, my preferred show about a mundane, regular slice of life guy and his quirky, eccentric female companion with tasteful nudity is much better than your show about a genitalless milquetoast protagonist with a personality of stale bread who has a manic fanservice pixie dream girlfriend.

It's an anime about economics, starring a travelling merchant and the fox spirit that accompanies him (and serves as the audience stand-in for his explanations of everything).

    Best moment in anime?

The Chamber fight at the end of Gargantia.
who knew a robot blowing up would be so sad? Also the way he goes out of his way to work around his programming to save the guy by making him admit to not wanting to die, thus being unfit to be one of that armies fucked up soldiers. Even though they were plenty of things he'd done up to then that probably wasn't up to standard.

    The best 'anime' moment tho,

The reveal in Aquarion. At the end it EVOL:
The dude who is the actual Apollo admits he's basically spent the last several ten thousand years cycles trying to hook his ex girlfriend up with the reincarnated spirit of his dog because the dog just liked her way more than he did.

The end of episode 6 in No Game, No Life should be up there. At the least, it's the best moment in the series.

It's been a few years since I watched Spice & Wolf and my recollection may be filtered through rose colored glasses, but I remember that one of the things I really liked was just how adult the main characters felt and acted. Where far too many animes I watched revolved around sexually insecure teenagers that got nosebleeds and panic attacks if a woman so much as hugged them S&W felt like actual grownups interacting.

This might be the result of my wishful thinking and foggy memory giving the series far to much of a benefit of the doubt, but I think even that naked scene at the beginning impressed me by how much the protagonist seemed react like someone with a good head on their shoulders when an unknown and potentially dangerous supernatural being suddenly appears. I don't think she is treated as looking like anything but a fully grown adult at any point in the series.

But I'm kind of afraid of taking a look to verify now and risk having my positive memories shattered. I do remember I really liked the series.
