Complete agree, but also, there's a reason this thread has specific rules about not talking about the gross shit, because there's a good chance people would, and have, and were the reason anime threads were banned. Just bums me out that I can't really be enthusiastic about Ousama Ranking because it shares a fandom space with Redo of Healer.
Tsukishima, though. Kubo can write some good powers sometimes.
Kenpachi is simultaneously the least funny character in the series and also the most hilarious when he gets screentime.
"Did you know a sword swing is stronger if you hold it with both hands?"
Inertia 67% - Way more NSFW humor than I normally put up with, but somehow it ends up pretty charming? It's a group of art college friends who are mostly held together because one of them has an apartment conveniently close to campus, which means it's the go-to drinking party apartment. They're all a bit trash and very non-moe, it's like an anti- Honey and Clover. Like there's one guy who's decent looking and wants to have sex and wants to have a girlfriend but he's too puritanical to get the former and too afraid of rejection to get the latter, and in most other series he'd be the protagonist and we'd be expected to sympathize with him, and in this series instead everyone just finds him fucking annoying, because he is. But yeah, a lot of nsfw content, especially the chapter pages, so caution.
Spy x Family - I mean everybody already knows this series is great. I was just holding off cuz it's nice to have a good series in your back pocket to pull out when things are stressful. So I pulled it out this week, and, yeup, it's great, and now I've got a big ol' backlog to read through! It's such an odd unique mix of wholesomeness, comedy, and surprising bursts of violence. Anya's a brilliant comedic character.
Blank Space - One girl can create things (except invisible) with the power of her mind. One girl is constantly lost in her overactive imagination. They become friends. You'd think that'd be enough for a series right there, but instead it turns into a much realer story about bullying and depression and not knowing how to pull your friend out of a darkening loop of revenge fantasies. Just like everything about this series is better and smarter and more thoughtful than you'd expect, I really like it.
A Sign of Affection - Really a pretty standard shoujo romance story, with the interesting twist that the main character is deaf, and her love interest is a Canadian exchange student. It still does a bunch of the shoujo romance tropes that annoy me, enough that I don't think I'm gonna stick around for the more interesting character bits about deafness, but, eh, not bad if you're into that sorta story.
ryoko good.
Interesting how the "worst girl" ended up with our protagonist.
@Reynolds.... When will you accept that you are wrong and history will look shamefully upon you.
In Tenchi Universe only two of the women are actually competing for Tenchi
She ended up with the other worst character, that's all.
Not to justify it, but this is because Juraians are polygamists(see Ayeka's father).
Code Geass has the perfect size. Evangelion is okay but little on the big side.
Evangelion's robots vary in size by like a x4 factor depending on what would look better in a frame, so using them as a size example is a touch less useful than probably intended :P,
I share my very normal preference and I am made the focus of derision?!
Every single person in this thread is a degenerate
Gurren Lagann though.
Ok but what about the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann?
Steam
What happens to their cool when they use those glasses like a tomahawk
You're all wow this is fun but how are they gonna punch that way bigger monster? And then they become a robot and you're like, ah, ok, now I understand. And then the punching begins.
But...nobody ended up with Tenchi's dad?
I don't know, I've seen some tiny teenage girls in anime deliver some pretty big punches.
Ladd Russo's English voice actor just goes for it.
In terms of the giant robot talk, I think the Full Metal Panic robots are pretty small comparatively? I haven't seen it in forever though, but I seem to remember them only being a few stories tall or something. Also that one season he spent piloting a tricked out mascot costume.
Patlabor is basically this in a nutshell
What the fuck
