That's not unusual though. Shit, Giga is a full fledged visual novel company (though the differences between indie and 'real' VN companies aren't huge) that had flat out serial rapists in basically every game, protagonist and antagonist, and I think 100% of their games from that era got PS2 ports, with convenient fades to black instead of metaphorical dolphin attacks.
Again, Vegeta had the ability to win that fight, guaranteed, and he decided to go along with the villain's stated plan! He thought it was a cool idea!
Probably fair but it doesn't undo it
as a treat
Those poor bastards never had a chance
He allows everyone to almost get killed.
There's a difference!
Doesn't he also allow everyone to get killed too?
But there was a time reset banked or something so he got to unkill everybody.
Which is still so fucked. Goku he killed like... most of your fiends. Except Chaotzu.
They left Krillin alone because he didn't move against them. That alone put a big hole in Trunks story about how they're merciless killers.
Vegeta had Cell dead to rights. All he had to do was finish him. Trunks could have done it too, but he held back for the sake of his dad's pride. They both had the means to address the actual problem without taking an innocent life. That ain't on Krillin.
... well technically Nappa killed all of Goku's friends, and then Vegeta killed Nappa, so really he's karmically positive at that point isn't he
ASIDE FROM BUG PLANET and anything else he did offscreen during his life which is implied to be "lots, bad"
Villains explaining their powers to the protagonist.
Like, if I was Aizen I wouldn't tell people that seeing my sword rendered them totally hypnotized. I'd just be like, "Lol figure it out, chumps. I can do some wiiiiierd shit."
But then every shounen fight would be half as long.
Because the protagonists would still have to explain their powers.
They have episode-long flashbacks in the middle of the fight for that.
I mean, he didn't tell them that. He told them his ability was some bullshit to do with reflections. So when it came out that lol psyche my power is actually absolute hypnosis and everyone who witnesses my first release is under it (aka literally every ranking member of the Soul Society) nobody even considered the possibility that he'd lied about the ability. And when they did figure it out it was too late to the point everyone considers Ichigo the only person able to fight Aizen specifically because he's never witnessed the release, everyone else is compromised. Even Gin, the person closest to him, said he only learned about the trick to undo the hypnosis after serving Aizen loyally for years.
If anything Aizen did exactly what you want villains to do and tricked everyone into thinking his power was one thing so they got blindsided by something completely different.
I mean, Vegeta then saved their lives in the Namek arc. So Goku sorta had a point.
I love how many layers of this the swap guy pulls. He looks like a big dumb bruiser but he's actually laying traps within traps of mind gaming his opponent.

also, very explicitly he states that his Zanpakuto's power even works if you know you've been affected by it and what the rules are, and as Madican points out only one person figured out the only literally only weakness; so it kind of wouldn't matter if he told anyone which was the point of him revealing because he could tell you that, but also he was just literally more powerful than everyone except maybe the old man. i wouldn't say it was a full on "subversion" (A PERFECTLY VALID WORD DESCRIBING A THING THAT SHOULD NOT CARRY ANY NONSENSE CONNOTATIONS OR QUALITY JUDGMENTS), but it was likely a deliberate play on the trope as a way of demonstrating how boned everyone was.
Remember when he did so telepathically and then that was just never mentioned again?
Steam
Just realized this was a ENTIRELY DIFFERENT bad thing than the one I was think about lmao
Like sure he killed everyone and that's inconvenient, but it's not like we'll never see them again or anything.
Today Volume 17 came out, in which...
It was good.
They're more in another country. Long distance but you can still ring them up every new and then.
If anyone's interested in working on something like this, definitely let me know.
That's my shit, love stuff like this. Not sure how I could help but I do simple video editing for fun
Even as a child I kind of immediately realized that the Androids from the main timeline were clearly not the same people as the Androids from the Trunks timeline. So they probably should be judged according to what they'd done here.
And far as I can remember 17 and 18 in this timeline mostly just killed Gero and broke Vegeta's face. The first is an entirely understandable reaction to someone who kidnapped you and turned you into robots without your consent, and the second one is the obvious reaction to meeting Vegeta in general.
