At least Funi had captioning? I have yet to find how to turn on captions for the Funi dubs imported into CR.
Netflix is like, the only one that has it.
Anime has too much intros. I've had to work out that it takes between 8 and 10 clicks of the skip forward 10 seconds button to get through the average anime intro. I will watch it exactly once to ascertain whether it is a banger or not and then I do not care to watch it again.

I actually really love the rare OPs that bleed into the episode themselves, though it's pretty rare, and much more common to see that with EDs. Ga-Rei is one of the few shows I can think of that did that consistently. It flat out doesn't have the first 8 or so seconds because it always started playing in the episode itself before the beat dropped. (E: Pretty certain Evol did it a lot too since its full version had a really extended intro chorus, but the animation only started where the vocals do).
Inuyasha's Angelus opening also did its recap over the opening licks, which is my only real memory of 'watching' Inuyasha at 3am on Adult Swim in my college years because I was in a sleep-deprived haze every night.
I think Asura Cryin' may have done that a few times in its second season, but that could also just be my memory playing tricks on me because half that opening is flat out waiting for the beat to drop.
E:
Oh, but on a technical level, I don't think that works for a lot of older shows because they also have their epilepsy warning placed in there. I honestly miss those. They were usually silly and cute.
JJK was the rare both first OP and ED are bangers, top tier
Full Metal Alchemist would be worse without the dramatic "FULL METAL ALCHEMIST" bumpers rammed into each episode, imo. They're just amusing.
except One Piece
(One Piece moves the end credits time into the opening)
Durarara!! did the recap during the opening thing too, across all their seasons.
Is anyone else reading Shiori Experience here? I love the big spread in volume 13 so much.
You can disable it, but you'll have to do it from a computer, you can't access the settings from a streaming app.
I saw this was another Tomoko and Yuri hangin' out chapter and assumed nothing was gonna happen, but actually I really liked this one. Tomoko's tryin' to think of what to write for their movie class project, which she's been putting off for a while with a combination of anxiety and writer's block. Yuri and Yoshida help her realize that even though this is the class project most folks in class aren't gonna care anyway, so why not just write something that Tomoko and her friends will like? Tomoko ends up agreeing with that argument and sitting down to write something that she'll like first and foremost, instead of something that fits in with the rest of the class.
Which is kind of a subtle but major bit of development for Tomoko. Tomoko's deciding to actually put herself out there, to take a risk on making something more true to herself and put it out there in public, even though she doesn't know if the public will like it or appreciate it. That's a big deal! Especially for a teenager, who bases so much of their own self esteem on what their peers think.
Feels like the best possible thing that could happen to Tomoko (besides asking Asuka out anyway) would be for her to be able to make something that she's proud of. Like way more important than if she gets positive feedback from folks who watch it, if she can actually write and film a script that she's happy with it would be a huge deal for her.
It does now, or at least the one I use does.
Hell, even the notorious HBO Max app works basically fine for me on my fire stick
EDIT: also it's the 4k stick, which is a beefy little boy
Perhaps, but I think it's more that their app teams are juggling so many different devices that it's hard to make them all good. Like there's almost not excuse for a gaming console app to have issues, Netflix has been an Xbox app for over 10 years now (*bones creak*) it's not like a mystery how to make a good UI or curate your content.
ESPECIALLY for Tomoko, the person whose primary character flaw has always been trying to change herself to fit what she thinks will make other people like her and being absolutely wrong or failing catastrophically
Also a new PV:
That's uh, certainly a song that kicks in at 12 seconds. Unlikely to be either the OP or ED, though.
I think someone posted that panel out of context a long time ago, but I don't know if I would have guessed exactly what was going on.
I'm sure itll come back up eventually but for right now its surprisingly complex political stuff. At least with each actors individual motivations changing on the fly.
Their problem was all the exposition, which is even worse in UBW.
Am I supposed to watch S27, the movie itself and then S2 the train arc? Is it a continuation or just the train arc in episode form?
