The first episode of the train arc (tv version) is completely original, so watch that, then watch either the rest of the season or switch to the movie instead.
Yeah, Mugen Train (the movie) and Mugen Train (the tv arc) are the same thing, so watching either is fine. When you finish though, watch the Entertainment District arc.

The TV version does add and also move around a few scenes but overall besides the first episode, the rest is mostly interchangeable

I watched the TV show cut up over the span of a few days, until a certain point about 2/3rds of the way through when I feel like it's spoiler-free to say it's clear they're heading into a final battle, and watched the movie cut nonstop from that exact point onwards (and there are no changes after that point in the TV cut anyways)

I've been reading Delicious in Dungeon as the official volumes release in English, so I'm a bit behind everyone else. Vol. 10 finally came out this week--14 months after Vol. 9--so I've just now gotten to Marcille's Dance of the Rabbits.

I think someone posted that panel out of context a long time ago, but I don't know if I would have guessed exactly what was going on.

It's at this point I stop and yell at Amazon for fucking up comixology because that's where I've been buying everything officially

The price per chapter just is just so wrong for a lot of these. 2 dollars for a chapter I read in 5 minutes? Come onnnnn.

If every manga chapter cost 10 cents or even 25 cents, I'd be buying so so so many. I feel like it would scale like crazy and they'd make a ton more money.

25 cents per chapter is closer to the manwha rate on stuff like Webtoon and a few other sites, incidentally

I'm enjoying the first few episodes of In the Land of Leadale, it's a pretty generic overpowered protagonist fantasy isekai, but instead of being a dumb harem thing or shonen action or whatever it's just a cute low stakes thing with a female protagonist becoming her game character after she dies in an accident. Almost slice of life but there does seem to be some hint of a plot coming together maybe.

The season is almost over and there's definitely a plot there, but it continues to be very relaxed and cozy. But it's either going to cover a lot in the last two episodes or get a second season, because she needs to visit a certain number of places and is like nine short still.

Edit: I just watched the forbidden second episode of Pastel Memories, which was pulled from all streaming services and mostly scrubbed from the internet for apparently being a parody that was really just a straight up copy. The art is horrendous, and the ED might have the most bizarrely porny angles and proportions I've seen in a while. Especially for what's otherwise a goofy and extremely low effort show. They barely resemble the characters from the actual show.

The OP is totally fine and cute though! And has an interesting look! I feel like I posted about it before...

Now go to random Geocity pages to read essays explaining the ending and all the Christianity references to get the full original Eva experience.

For an actual fun bit of post-watch, you can track down the Eva chapter of the manga "Kine-san no 1-ri de Cinema." I believe it's Chapter 17.

Most chapters of that series are relatively stand alone. It's an office lady that loves movies and her roommate that gets dragged into her nonsense. The Eva chapter is about a friend of theirs trying to get them to watch anime.

The Rebuild films are essentially the real, final(?) ending of Evangelion. I guess it explains some stuff, but it also throws a lot more stuff at you alongside it.

They also have a lot of shots so detailed you can feel the money being lit on fire.

The Rebuild series is, far as I can tell, more of an AU kind of thing than a "this is the real Evangelion" kind of thing.

Yeah, I like to interpret EoE as a cautionary tale against pushing emotionally broken people to do things. Oh, you wanted your grieving and traumatized potential boytoy child soldier to defend your base? Too bad, he kills all life on the planet instead. Oopsie woopsie. Did a little fucky wucky.
