Lots of people talked about it, even if it was a bit niche.
Here's what got me into it:
And Mako is simply the best.
Considering these were the episodes where we watched Nami's flashback maybe this wasn't the best choice to open up with...
Whatever. No regrets
But that's not this.
I'm just a little sad that burning the candle at both ends still doesn't leave me time to do what I want and like to do, but I suppose that's adulting for you.
I will probably see the Jujutsu Kaisen movie this Saturday though.
And I will say that while I'm not happy with the whole "slavery is still legal" aspect, at least now the owners are strongly encouraged to educate and treat their slaves well under the threat of not advancing their own place in society.
People writing stories that didn't just use that genre as the only reference versus people writing stories that are made almost entirely based on what they read in that genre?
Edit: That but for writing in general
Edit: I also feel and actual realist would be like, "any laws I pass about treatment of slaves won't be enforced for a ton of different reasons"
I've become super fond of Queen Hilling as a character. POWER!
it's just a really good show - I enjoy how much it's content to let it's world be immensely intensely weird and not feel like it has to justify itself one iota

Yu-Gi-Oh card rules are bullshit. But not as much bullshit as Yugi's power to cheat whenever he wants.
Kill la Kill was awesome.
There was a pirate rap.
Also, for maximum anime, while watching AniMenagerie and chatting in the discord, I was also watching the Discotek announcement twitch stream.
Symphogear Season 3 is finally getting it's blu-ray release. They also got the rights to the 90s Double Dragon cartoon to put on blu-ray. Original Devilman and Violence Jack are also both coming to blu-ray. Along with a bunch of old mecha shows I'm not super familiar with.
Darkstalkers oav is also coming to blu-ray with a bunch of extras. They're even doing two separate subtitle tracks for if you prefer the characters to have their US or Japanese names.
Plus a shit ton of Lupin III stuff. Mystery of Mamo blu-ray with all four English dubs included, First Contact movie with a new dub from the Adult Swim cast, first Lupin III TV series (green jacket) also with a new dub from the Adult Swim cast, and the most recent Lupin TV Special, Prison of the Past.
There's also Sgt. Frog Season 2.
The final bonus announcement was that they were putting the original Digimon series on blu-ray with some sort of arcane wizardry to upscale it to HD.
Half off most Gundam Blu-ray, and yes G Gundam and 08th MS Team are in there

Sure, thinking that slavery will become obsolete is realist.
Guess they should call it the Centrist Hero

Mostly they would look at the tax system and start crying.
Edit: They would try to create some sort of school system funded with taxes and then those schools would get burned down by peasants mad at the taxes and loss of labor.
'when are taxes paid?'
'when you say so'
'who collects the taxes then?'
'some guys you better trust a lot'
'well, how much do people pay?'
'whatever you tell them too, but not too much or you'll deal with uprisings'
*explains the concept of progressive taxation*
'yeah, don't do that unless you want to be killed by angry nobles about five seconds after announcing it'
unless you mean to say he eliminated all the nobility, that means essentially nothing
the nobility, even the 'good ones' who acted in the interest of their populace, by nature protect their own status above all else
The power of the Millennium Puzzle is literally revealed to be
Though I will say the final duel in the series is pretty impressive just because
I'm honestly not sure which one realist hero is. There are some that are definitely filled with stupid landmines 100 chapters in.
I remember liking a low fantasy blacksmith one ok.
Honestly that's a whole nother common Isekai / Reincarnation genre. The artisan ones based on Food or Smithing or Farming, can be a nice treat, tho you have to watch out for the shitty harems that pop up in those as well.
so it's not like Japanese culture is magically immune to understanding that bit of moral relativism
like, Attack On Titan and Vinland Saga are right there
