Then you wouldn't have been out manoeuvred by a wimpy Englishman who whined about how he'd rather be a poet!
Excited to watch it on Sunday.
It's getting really positive reviews. I was surprised to see Slate devote an article to it.
On the other hand, I also really loved the Courage pilot, and ended up haaaaaaating the actual series for how much it changed in between, so you win some, you lose some.
Wow, you both are being silly geese...
The line "Wait a minute, isn't that a bit contrived?" has stuck with me ever since the first time I saw Larry and Steve. Just something in the delivery that sells it.
I'm "kupiyupaekio" on Discord.
I remember laughing a lot at the "euthanasia" pun.
This was also my reaction to the first episode, and I even mentioned it in my recommendation. I don't think it's been bad enough to stop watching, but it definitely stands out.
I was very much joking but I can see how this might look like me butting in to be a turd. Also, this is pretty much how The Fields of Abraham and Anglo/Francophone history is taught in Western Canada, or was when I was in school.
Wolfe was brave and crafty and this was a big victory for "us", and then no more history of Quebec until a few paragraphs about the Quiet Revolution in a grade 10 history textbook.
Oh.
Well, for your personal culture... (information in spoiler)
Also, France did not consider the defense of New France a military priority, so, uh, well, to paraphrase 300's King Leonidas, Quebec City may have had more men defending it, but the British had more soldiers.
You know, sometimes I wonder about the wisdom of the content of our compulsory education curriculum (so primary and secondary schooling).
ETA:
Anyway...
To bring this back to the topic, French anime dub of Cardcaptor Sakura > that "Cardcaptors" bowdlerization.
Oh the French opening just has naked Gohan right in there, huh? Changed that to a link just in case.
I had heard the Canadian DBZ intro was...special.
And who better than Peter Cullen to narrate it?
Yeah, having Optimus narrate the robot revolution was...unsettling.
The previous tweet made that one hit harder:

I honestly felt this way about Toonami coming home everyday. My stepdad was like a terror to us kids, Toonami came on in the 2 hour window between after school and the parents coming home. So to me it was a small solace in a shitty world for sure. Mission accomplished.
Pro tip, cut out the "shorts" part of the Url to embed
Ooooh, that intro is so cringe-inducing, I had forgotten that I had repressed my memories of it...

Also Ranking of kings 22 a thing that happened. Not sure what to make of it, but I'm still enjoying the shows bullshit. It's very big on radical compassion, but I like this

YGO is pretty rad.
As expected, Masayuki Suzuki is back for the OP. (Live version) It doesn't immediately grab me as much as the two previous OPs, but I'm sure it'll grow on me.
The best part is that he was right.
Man, that was some good shit. Like, maybe my favorite thing from Trigger.
That said, everything still wrapped up really well. It was kinda melancholy but with a real sweet finish. Like, sunshine right after a rain storm.
It got me, homies. It got me real good right in my sensitive bits.
I read a bunch of the source material. There is definitely some subtext there.
The dude who did not get changed into a woman very explicitly shows no interest in women, or even men, except unconsciously for his friend. He kind of reads as like asexual and demi-romantic with like literally the only person he has ever fallen in love with being his friend but he doesn't realize it because he doesn't have a barometer to compare it to. If he does have a sexual preference it seems to be for men. I'll be honest I didn't really real a lot of trans vibes in the other character: he doesn't mind being in a woman's body he's just worried about how it'll affect his relationship with his friend. Like he likes being cute but I'm pretty sure he still identifies as a man. He could be bi, he does seem to have an appreciation for very handsome men.
It's pretty funny, only like, one or two real problematic things in it. Has a pretty funny revolving cast of side characters.
It's real good! Possibly better than gridman, and gridman was also real good!
Really looking forward too the Gridman X Dynazeon movie

The main trans vibe I got from it was that his drunk rambling unconscious wish that led to the whole situation was wanting to be a super pretty girl. That feels like a trans egg moment to me. He doesn't admit it to himself when fully conscious but he sure does seem to be having fun existing as a woman by the second episode. It's for sure intentionally ambiguous though, as queer subtext anime often is.
He liked it a lot and like every time I watch it, I cried
I love that movie so much
As does symphogear and I wouldn't have it any other way.
