These first four episodes have been gathering the party of clearly defined classes while the GM PC spells out the three magical items they need to gather to defeat the big bad, who is happy to sit in his evil tower and wait for them to show up.
In that analogy, actual real Thunderbolt Fantasy S1 spoilers:
One of the characters is actually level 20 in an adventure that's clearly meant for characters capped out at like, level 12.

Shenmue The Animation is interesting. It's oddly low budget, but the fights are pretty decently done, and seems to be adding more subplots than the game did...

Wonder who'll finish the story first.

That assumes either of them will ever finish, though.

Watched the JJK movie. It's good, but honestly I think it never reaches the heights of the best fights of the regular series.

Honestly, what it needs is like a 5 minute bridge of Gojo explaining to his current students, framing it as a story. For people not caught up on the manga, the whole thing will feel a bit like a non-sequitir?

    Mild manga spoilers
boy they teed up that zenin clan conversation to hit different for manga readers.

It's an adaption of the prequel/oneshot that actually got the manga launched, is probably why there's no framing story.

No shit, JJK 0 is actually from before the manga? I actually really enjoyed the movie and thought it did a good job providing some needed backstory for characters.

Tadano's cameo doesn't totally make sense unless you know his deal already, but aside from that it's very possible to start off with 0 before the series.

Toonami in the 90s was my introduction to anime back before I knew what an Internet was. Dragonball Z with the hammiest narrator in existence, Sailor Moon (surprisingly parents did not mind me watching this as a boy), Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star. Never really was interested in Gundam or Rurouni Kenshin though.

And honestly I got invested in the character TOM, the guy between shows who chatted briefly about what was up next, to the point I was sad when he got killed by an alien because he had a whole character arc! Then he came back as a cool cyborg and yeah it was all a marketing stunt to remodel Toonami with some new shows and look but I was also a child and despite being just smart enough to get myself in various kinds of trouble I hadn't even the slightest inkling of capitalistic marketing schemes.

Directly responsible for introducing me to both Gundam and Macross. It's a debt I cannot repay.

I really enjoyed Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Yuji is still my all time favorite dumb boy protagonist but Yuta I thought worked really well for the movie and had a pretty touching arc.

My only dissapointment was that I thought the music was lacking. I think Jujutsu action scenes really are heightened by it, and the movie just didn't have those moments.

It was nice to see events that the show references briefly. But it definitely did that movie of an anime show problem where it just throws a bunch of cameos at you of people that, in fairness, were already set up by the show as being there, but were otherwise completely not established in the movie.

Like all anime, Yu-Gi-Oh has zero guns in it.

"Dragon" is a portmanteau of "drag racer" and "gun." That's why they all look like fast silly cars what can shoot you.

Choose the most gruesome fate in YGO Season 0.

My pick would usually be the guy who Yugi got to immolate himself up until I remembered that the loser of that elemental dragon game has their soul fed to the dragons over a long period of time.

I saw Crunchyroll has original Mobile Suit Gundam the series and not just the movie compilations like Netflix. If you don't have issues with watching an older show I'd start there really.
It holds up pretty well apart from some obvious bits. It's the baseline for the majority of the shows that follow. If not in plot, the themes etc.

Barring that the first season of Iron Blooded Orphans is what got me to look back and watch a bunch of Gundam and is its own continuity.
