When I got to Wano and looked at how many more chapters there were, I kind of assumed that the arc would have finished recently. I didn't count on it being bigger than ever.
Can I borrow your hyperbolic time chamber so I can catch up on my Steam backlog?
Completely had forgotten that they changed Chi Chi's name in the dub because that's slang for Spanish slang for breasts.
Basically means the same thing in Japanese, incidentally
11 volumes, 50 issues. The distinction is a big difference in US comics. I think Ultimate Spider-Man might be the only US comic that proceeded in the same direction with some (but not all) of the same creatives for nearly that length.
Incidentally, the original WoW TCG did this including having some cards have special utility when used as resources and I thought that made for interesting decisions at times as well as opening up fun design space.

Fuck Joe Manchin
Gold Digger is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, every monthly issue written and drawn by the same person (Fred Perry) for the entire run.
Well, it did take a few weeks. And included weekends spent mostly in bed reading. I kinda binged it the same way I did Elden Ring.
I'm relieved that it's available (legally) without buying 100 volumes.
Huh, that even beats Cerebus (1977-2004) by a few years, which I'd previously thought was the longest-running thing on a monthly schedule with the same team (Dave Sim and Gerhard).
I think the record for overall time period with the same team might be Groo, which has the same writer and artist and somehow they've kept the letterer and colorist all these years as well. (Mark Evanier/Sergio Aragones/Stan Sakai (yes, that Stan Sakai)/Tom Luth) That's 1982-2021, though it's not monthly these days, they do mini-series every year or so.
(there's a lot of other indies out there that have had a long run between first and last issue with the same team/person -- looking on the shelf here, couple of obvious ones would be Flaming Carrot (1984-2006, Bob Burden) and Bone (1991-2004, Jeff Smith), though again not monthly through those times, and there have got to be a bunch more out there that I don't know about. )
(edit: duh, Usagi Yojimbo's been going since '84 (okay, '87 when he got his own comic -vs- guest appearances) and has been Sakai the whole time. Also there's an animated series of that coming out on Netflix -- the preview video makes me go "hmmmmmmm" but that's because I'm very used to the original art so anything different is going to look weird)
Unfortunately everything else Antarctic Press publishes is basically trash.
An argument could be made that Usagi and Mamoru aren't exactly the best parents either considering some of the events of Sailor Moon R. Not to mention dropping Chibi-Usa on their past selves' laps again in S for I believe 'training' (and probably to close off another time loop). Complete with a barely-intelligible note.
Wouldn't be the last note sent to the past either. The co-ruler of future Japan (if not the world?), everyone.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Similarly, I think the ponegliff prints Brook got at Big Mom's place included a road ponegliff, but I don't think it was 100% clear.
It's definitely gonna come up in the manga eventually, but it'll probably take a while.
Literally!
i don't agree with either point. i think it's fine either longform or weekly, or rather i don't think that's a criticism that matters to me, i am engaged with the story. telling a story as big with world-building this meticulous is hard and has few peers. it's not an invalid criticism if it doesn't work for you; but as the counterpoint i don't have a model of being more efficient at delivering this kind of story at this kind of 40+ issue a year output for this long, so you know whatever. i like the story, and how long A gets to B isn't that important to me even less so the whats, whys and wherefores the pacing, just not a thing that has much relevance to my digestion of the media. it's nice to have a weekly thing to care about, and it was fun to get caught up when the story caught my interest.
totally valid if that is a stumbling block but eh doesn't rise to that in my estimation.
Well deserved.
The plot of the chapter was Bruce Wayne had been badly injured, so Alfred has banned him from being Batman for a few weeks so he can recover. Bruce keeps trying to sneak to the Batcave, but is stopped at every turn from one family member or another.
Then...
Just ep 1 stuff
Fair, it's a personal taste thing.
Kaguya-sama Season 3 is part of the competition, right?
Right?

I'll go back and read it when it's done probably
Oh, that's just the title. Huh never heard of this.
I showed my girlfriend Komi Can't Communicate and she really liked it, nice
I know I know I'm going to get told "well actually its better than it ever was" like last time.
I'm sorry, this is not what I'm seeing. We will have to agree to disagree. I'm not saying literally every CGI I see right now is bad. But I'm seeing a lot more of it, and when its bad, it feels like its everywhere, because it literally is. The best CGI, however, nowadays, is basically unnoticeable. I basically realise after some time has passed watching it "Wait that was/is cgi" and I go "huh". I wish that happened a lot more.
