With the Quintessential Quintuplets movie coming out next month in Japan, moviegoers will be able to get a special Volume 14.5 of the manga, which appears to be the final volume with an extra chapter added in. The bonus chapter will also run in Weekly Shonen Magazine that week.

Single extra chapter's probably not enough to pivot to the Bokuben strategy.

I cannot imagine trying to watch a anime built to cause shipping wars in a theater

    Its gonna cause riots

Just finished the first episode of Spy x Family and it seems fun.

I don't intensely despise the child like I do every child in anime ever which is a pretty big accomplishment.

The best thing about Anya is that she's clearly written by someone who has either kids themselves or has spent lots of time with them because the way she is on certain things is spot on.

    Episode 3
Her little tour around the house is exactly what small children do to new visitors.

Yeah, seeing everyone talking about how great she is and posting those shitpost faces she makes actually had me bracing for her to be obnoxious, but no she is just actually the best.
In a story driven by everyone having secrets, it's pretty brilliant having a character who knows all of them but is just too much of a five year old for that to break the story.

I started watching 86 Eighty-Six and binged the first season, but the introduction of a certain new character at the beginning of season 2 has severely dampened my enthusiasm to continue. I went from not being able to wait to see what comes next to putting off watching the next episode.

I know the character you're referring to and I recommend you stick it out.

I had the same reaction heading into the 2nd season. While I never really warmed to the character overall, if you liked the first season it's definitely worth closing out the 2nd.

The series is pretty damn clever with it's setup because it's draws people in the the premise of the spy stuff and other secrets, but it has a major deeper layer that is driven by interpersonal relations between characters.
I think for me it was the other way around, everyone was talking about the character and comedy and found family stuff, and that was what I came for and that is all good, but I was surprised that when it's going hard on the spy stuff it's legit fun and exciting in its own right.

I like that the spy stuff is played so intense and straight, but is over such stupid shit.

Don't forget to thank X for giving it to you.

I've seen the opinion that you don't say the X in Spy X Family so that the title is just "Spy Family" and just wholeheartedly disagree.

I ignored that for Hunter X Hunter and I'll ignore it here too.

The official title isn't even spelled with a letter X. It's a rotationally symmetric saltire.

The curse of playing Super Robot Wars is getting really invested in some old school mech anime characters then being put off by how poorly the visuals from said show have aged.

I thought the curse was playing SRW, getting invested in certain characters and then deciding to watch the animes they came from for the first time only to discover how poorly things went for them there.

Or sometimes how bad the show is, and how it's actually better in SRW context(looking at you, Cross Ange).

This may be random, but does anyone have any suggestions for anime characters that would make good inspiration for Dungeons & Dragons NPCs (in terms of how they speak and behave)?

I'm thinking Satsuki and Gamagoori from Kill la Kill seem like that would be good inspiration for more militaristic characters, and Lelouch from Code Geass would be a good reference for an arrogant mastermind.

Ai Enma from Jigoku Shoujo is definitely some minor lawful demon who condemns people who makes contracts with her to hell

Or for a similar theme, the Ongyou from 100 Stories, three spirits who punish wrongdoers, terrorizing and tricking them into confessing their crimes before killing them. A trickster monk, a sexy lady puppeteer who's totally a corpse, and a large shapeshifter who can talk with birds.

Or Ginko, from Mushishi, who's really got the attitude of a doctor, but he treats supernatural afflictions caused by spirits and curses and such.

Well caught up on Spy X Family manga. Guess I need to keep an eye out for new stuff, since the chapter won't be till May 15th and I've either caught up on other stuff I was reading or purged it because it went to crap or didn't pan out in the early chapters.

Also Twilight from Spy X Family would b a great reference for a rogue.

    Read DANDADAN.
