I'd love a dungeon diving mystery adventure story like made in abyss but with less horribly hurting children and less pervert gaze at aforementioned children. That'd be more ideal.
I mean yeah that's just men writing women a lot of the time
I fuckin love gundam but tomino deserves a punch in the face
[insert joke about the show's writers being equally clueless here]
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Maybe not but his nickname is Urobutcher for a reason
I think it's a real weakness, especially because the stories he wants to tell don't typically include dynamic women in lead roles
I hate Gaim but Psycho-Pass fucking whips
I mean I too enjoy Psycho-Pass but it's not exactly sparse in terms of violence towards women or psychologically torturing its lead female protagonist either.
Sometimes you just want a show about sad cops, though
I overall really liked the first season of Psycho Pass but there's one violent attack in the streets the show really lingers on that I found really disturbing. Then they just kept showing people watching it on tv and on their computers etc. I know it was supposed ot be disturbing, but it did its job too well for me. It's also not alone in the show, but it was the one that got me.
I tried Made in Abyss and found all the landscape and environment art gorgeous and good music, neat premise. Knowing a little bit of its rep and the child like appearances I noped out pretty quick.
The art and worldbuilding are incredible, some of the best I've ever seen
but I got to
Have you heard of Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon? Our protagnists are going to eat their way through the dungeon come hell or high water. Also it has some of the best art and fantasy character design out there, point blank.

It literally does not until the very end of the story when he finally tries to redeem himself (very much a work in progress by the end of the series). Kouta does, because Kouta is an unobservant moron until, like, the very final stretch.
EDIT: He's only second on being an unobservant moron to Takatora, and that takes effort.
He's framed as a tragic victim of the circumstances of being rich and having expectations forced on him
Also Mai literally disappears in to an exposition cave for a third of the show lol
I and a lot of the comment that I've seen just makes fun of Micchy for being an incel suckup that constantly sides with whoever seems strongest at the moment. Hell, one of the villains calls him out on the fact that nobody can trust him because of that.
Then again, that villain was Yoko, which, yeah. Yoko was the biggest issue that I had with the series since, ew.
Yep. Pretty much a goal-oriented writing.
But popularity of unlikeable assholes is not surprising. See: The large fanbase of characters like Sasuke and Bakugo.
There now we're back to anime
They both literally try to go on all by themselves, then they (and the writer) realize that they are just going to get offed without accomplishing anything since everybody else has allies but them, so they have to scrap in order to get some extra warm bodies around.
He's a victim of a system designed to create psychopathic abusers, and it takes a lot of the real world beating his ass to make him realize that life doesn't work like he was taught it does. Which is a good character arc, but doesn't change the fact that he's an unlikeable asshole during most of his series.
Sometimes people protecting the status quo have more friends than those trying to tear it down, yeah
Uh huh. Which is why they inmediatly went to the villains when they realized that they couldn't do anything by themselves. Even when is counter productive, since on Sasuke's case, you know what is useful for getting revenge? Having an army as backup. And Kaito went to Ryouma for scraps because he had to beat Kouta, even though Kouta at that point was full on against YGRDRASSIL.
That's a lot of reading into series about beating bad guys with the power of friendship.
It didn't appear first in Fire Emblem Fates but it's what I always associate the idea with
The big problem with "let's turn enemies into friends" is that if you do make friends with your former enemies, you weren't really enemies to begin with.
I'm sorry, but this is nonsense. They're enemies because they have a worldview that is in conflict with yours. If you can convince them to change their worldview, then they can be friends.
Guys, stop all this fighting. We can all be friends.
There are also quite a few "BUT FRIENDSHIP" anime where the relationships are actually deeply toxic bullshit.
