AD Police was also pretty good but way too exploitative.
Which reminds me, Dominion Tank Police doesn't fit the bill because there's only one female protagonist but Hyper Police does and it's a Shadow Run setting
I seen way too many ahegao shirts, so maybe we flew too close to the sun.
I'd argue our fourth theme is dental hygiene.
That isn't a sub-theme, that's a foundational pillar of the entire apparatus.
I misread the original post!
Oh yeah I could accept seeing them at anime cons, but my brain started to invert once I was subjected to the containment breach of seeing a guy wearing a matching ahegao tracksuit with both hoodie and pants on a major street mid-town here
wrong kind of "drip"
Also from what I hear Kill La Kill's Mako Mankanshoku is a whole-character reference to the main character's best friend.
I'm "kupiyupaekio" on Discord.
Aim for the Ace is secretly one of the biggest influences on Anno, along with Ultraman and Ideon
Gunbuster is pretty heavily based on it (hence the Japanese title Aim For The Top!)
Edit: I say secretly because a lot of formative anime and toku in japan just never made it over here n a timely manner
RN I'm watching O Maidens In Your Savage Season which I'm enjoying outside of some questionable plot threads I will chalk up to anime.
After I'm done with this I figure I'll finally get into Spy x Family to see what the hype is about then catch up on Love is War, Haikyuu and Food Wars.

Not anymore you don't!
I do have complete series of Trigun/Trigun Maximum (including Multiple Bullets), Hellsing, Death Note, 20th Century Boys, Excel Saga and FLCL.
From ongoing, I'm buying Ancient Magus Bride, Spy x Family and I guess Drifters whenever it comes out.
and partly why their pilot uniforms look vaguely like 80s aerobics outfits
2 but I think there is a planned break before the second one starts up.
There's usually a gap week between seasons.
anyway,

The creator of Panty & Stocking and the co-founder of Studio Trigger, Hiroyuki Imaishi, has stated multiple times that one of the things he wants to do the most is be able to make a continuation of the show. He even made an unofficial continuation doujinshi (called "Cemetery Hills") that had Nova's uncertain fate at the end of Space Patrol Luluco be resolved with him appearing in the world of PSG.
(Yes, this is a canon thing that happens)
The ending of the whole arc was quite well done even if I think it got drawn out a little much in the middle.
That'll be a trend for every arc for the remainder of the series
And, on July 11th, we'll be starting a brand new season! What's the theme for Season 5?
Shoutouts to @Madican for inspiring the subtitle with a comment I've been thinking about for more than a year apparently. After focusing on the tournament arc last season, this time around we wanted to keep things as varied as possible. We picked six broad categories (Action, Comedy/Slice of Life, Fantasy, Horror/Suspense/Thriller, Sci-Fi, Sports) and took suggestions from myself, @Zonugal, @IronKnuckle's Ghost, @darunia106 and @Lars to fill out the schedule. When we noticed the lineup could be separated into those three blocks by sub-themes, we couldn't resist.
I'd be interested to see if anyone can pick out what categories they think each of the shows we picked were originally submitted as. Some shows were actually suggested by multiple people, and in different categories! Golden Boy wasn't an original suggestion either, it was a last minute addition by me to help even out some numbers.
And then I added a week-by-week schedule, because we've been winging that for like three seasons now, and it's caused way too much last minute scrambling. I crave organization.
We're going to go off schedule like one month in and I'm going to cry.
Also, now that we (I) have finished Battle Angel Alita and Akuma no Riddle for AniMenageRead Volume 1: Chapters 1-2, I'm also pleased to announce that we're beginning Chapter 3 this week. Our new manga: Billy Bat! I've heard this will be a wild one.
If you're interested in joining us for any of this, just ask for an invite here, PM me or Zonugal, or ping me on the PA Discord! Mondays, 8-11 PM Central, with subtitled shows Saturday nights at the same time! S Season 1 is somehow still going, even though we've watched five seasons of Symphogear already!!
