There is absolutely no way this show ends in two episodes. They have to announce another season when 13 drops, or something.
It feels appropriate
now that's the real girl power right there. that's the stuff.
As long as it continues to tighten up the pacing and dialog every episode I'm okay with it. I think they repeated the plot about five times per episode during the whole Arabasta saga but it's also noticeably better about that than at the start. I also cannot wait til I get to the big animation change.
Which will probably set up December to be the month we just show holiday-anime films till January arrives with the truly impossible season six.
Maybe that "new" anime came out in the late 1980s?
Either way, its a platform for broadening tastes (and sometimes teaching you that you just DO NOT LIKE a particular show or genre whole-sale)
I've got the whole thing on dodgy HK DVDs around somewhere
Just is amusing
Oh shit I forgot this was getting an anime. Might need to watch it, the manga was pretty excellent.
Cromartie actually was part of Animenagerie for a few weeks until we found out Bakarina Season 2 had already been dubbed so it got booted out so we could watch that instead.
It kind of looked like a newer remake of Captain Tyler
You what now. Did I know about this and forget or have I only just heard about this.
I fucking love that manga.
Oh that's cause they also added the OVAs, which were mostly bad from what I recall.
He spends like a season and a half assembling a harem... and then unintentionally dumps them all in a single episode because he's distracted trying to play a vr game while everyone tries to confess to him.
He's like the anti-kirk.
Also we've got enough people on the server now that if we want to try to set up something for another time zone it might be possible. There's usually people online all night. Also been considering doing a book club style 'watch and report' thing for anime, manga was the test run. I've been doing that style elsewhere and it's still pretty fun.
slightly NSFW
Winner of the least relevant OP song for an anime.

i don't know what you mean...
And he's actually hyper competent! He's just lazy!
The series isn't perfect either but it does a better job at those quiet moments.
I just went through the Lodoss OVA with some friends, I think it still looks visually breathtaking but the plot feels very straightforward nowadays. It's kind of one of the original genre-defining works for LOTR/D&D-style japanese fantasy so that makes sense, looking back on it now makes it feel very by-the-numbers because it helped create the numbers.
We also watched an episode of the much later TV series, which was definitely not as good because it wasn't a high budget OVA. Also they got the same english dub voice actors back for it but Parn's actor decided to put on Ye Olde Knightly airs in his performance for some reason, instead of his normal voice and speech style he used in the OVA, and it sounds terrible.
but what if you need the CLANG
