You mean:
It's a damn good joke though.
The charm of OPM for me was always less about Saitama himself and more about how Saitama's existence reflected off of everyone else so they could demonstrate character growth and keep some stakes in play because he himself cannot be the focus of the story without making it boring. We all know how Saitama vs literally anybody goes, but we're invested in everyone else and what happens to them. Case in point, we're not worried for Saitama versus an almost-literally godly Garou, we're worried about Genos with his core and life in Saitama's literal hand.
It's got great looking "fights", but they're really not. We KNOW what the outcome is gonna be, but it's about the difference the hero makes on those around him.
I laugh when people say they "don't like" Superman but go on about One Punch.... because THAT'S THE THING that makes Superman stories good.
I won't complain if a portion of every episode is given over to a little music video if they're all as good as this one.
...spends an entire episode frantically running around campus like a maniac because a cat stole his mask.
I'm glad he sounds confident because my interest has been very very slowly declining over the last 10 years. I still read it every week. But it's not as wondrous.
all the mysteries? I feel like that's a pretty big list.
That said, the Wano arc just went past four years, so assuming they keep on getting longer, he has a fair bit of time to cover things.
"I didn't dodge them. I resolved to take them from the start."
My man Mumen Rider is where the heroics are at.
Its pretty great.
And to which Saitama responds by pretending to be a shallow jerk and refusing to take credit for the Sea King kill, acknowledging his and the other heroes' efforts while getting others to hate him in the process. Because he can take it.
So yeah, it's still about Saitama as well.
I know that recommendation was unfair, but I read it right on the tail of re-reading all of CSM and I think that made it hit a lot harder and made me consider it more. Glad you liked it, and I'll be sure to wear a cup when I'm out and about.
Having read Goodbye, Eri makes the most recent CSM chapter even better.
And I love it, and I love the joke, but Saitama is definitely the least interesting character there. But that doesn't make him uninteresting! Just less compelling than the rest. Doomed to never be satisfied, but doing the right thing anyway? That is a good Superman analogue right there

He's much more selfish in small ways
He is such a dirtbag in the most petty ways but ultimately he embodies the ideal of a hero in his actions when push comes to punch.
