I don't think it's so much streaming as the companies being legal and the shows using actual talent for songs/writing.
Since the lyrics for those songs have a different license than the song itself. So to translate it you'd need to license the lyrics. At least it's an issue I recall from a VN getting translated. So I'd assume anime is similar.
I remember watching some fansubs for Penguindrum and they did some funny localisation for one character's lines here and there where he'd just say a meme line (like, literally, 'you mad?') because what he was saying in Japanese was essentially the same sort of thing, and translating it literally would've been kinda dry. The rest of their subs were pretty straightforward but the occasional bizarre meme bit was frankly hilarious and had exactly the desired effect.
I make it a point to do this myself if I like the song enough, but I usually do phonetic versions, and usually for older games, a la:
but as anime goes, this one was a crime I had to fix:

Also, I've been watching the fan translation of Macross Frontier, and the official release better go the full nine for the lyrics, since every single episode has at least one song taking place during the story.
...why?
Been a steady seller since its release, big in streaming circles (a good game to react to if nothing else) and fandom circles in japan from what I know
I get depressed every time I remember that Cage games actually sell well for some reason
yeah I always wonder what his studio could do with a better writer at the helm

see, I chose to watch Kizu after leaving last month's watch through on Mayoi Hell, when Araragi returns to find Shinobu/Kiss-Shot fully formed and waiting, and that was the moment where I decided "ok I have procrastinated on these films, but i need to know badly what Kiss-Shot's true deal is before going any further"
and honestly after a couple episodes back into Owari Second Season, that actually felt like a really good place to take a break and dip back in, somehow? might have better ways to put it soon idk
I'm waiting for the Heavy Rain manga where the panel just lies to you. Super hard and blatantly.

see, the thing that makes the connor & hank bits good is the actors, not David Cage
Bryan Dechart and Clancy Brown improvved a lot of scenes and, according to Dechart, David Cage didn't want them to do that
I started watching fansubbed Kongming and all the colored letters and nice effects and scene lettering, instead of just "white Arial at bottom" are *so* pleasant.
"Hello fellow kids isn't this Chain-saw-man the hippest cat?"
It's so CHILL I love it.
My favorite of his was definitely Beyond Two Souls, though I fully realize it's a problematic mess.
Probably going to have to go in on a month sometime down the road to binge through that and a few others...

Lum existed since 1981.
Megadrive in '88.
Also is Lum tsundere? I have only seen the movie where they're trapped in a dream world on a giant turtle, but she seemed pretty straightforward in expressing her feelings to protagonist boy.
IBO: still really good, if incredibly bittersweet. I'd like them to do more in this universe, just because the emphasis on the very physical combat was so different. Feels like they could do a show about the battle 300 years ago and it'd be real interesting
Seed: it's okay? Some good, some bad, some bizzare.
Seed destiny: oh very dear, what a hilarious train wreck. The way Neo gets to just change dudes and no one calls him on his prior actions is big ooof.
Stargazer: interesting, but too short.
Re:Rise - about 8 episodes in to my rewatch, save it's still amazing how good this show turned out to be. It's character work is just exceptional
