Just have the protagonist save a damsel in distress. Bandits, monsters, whatever.

but then you don't get the thrill of literally owning a human being to use for sex, apparently that's a big turn on to a certain subset of disgusting sociopaths
edit: Uh that was a very late yes to Transporters original question.
Isn't there's an isekai where the protagonist IS the slave?
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
I'm trying to think of all the Isekai I've watched and if they buy a slave.
Overlord - No
Konosuba - No
Re: Zero - No
Mushoku Tensei - No
Tsuki Michi - No
Reincarnated as a Slime - No (Although I haven't watched all of it so maybe later on?)
Sword Art Online - No
Rising of a Shield Hero - Yes
Granted that's just all that I've watched. Maybe it's rampant and I've just been lucky, but every time it gets brought up I don't know what people are talking about.
It's rampant

It's not a huuuuuuuge thing, but it is a thing.

But yeah, aside from the sheer length, the way Oda draws women was one of the reasons my partner bailed on watching the anime with me after a while. They're all weird stick figures with giant sphere boobs.
A chapter of Bakuman felt like it took 5 minutes to read there was such much crammed into each.
Or will she be destroyed by someone else to hurt Mitaka?
TOTALLY. Also, it's kind of insane that they never really do monkey based powerups for super saiyan levels. Give him a giant golden monkey tail. Or like an arc where they learn to control the full moon monkey, and then make himself human sized while still having the same power. Shit like that.
(DB GT doesn't count although SSJ4 was the most awesome of transformations)
Koalas, severe PTSD, and creepy fishmen.
Eh, owning women has been around in anime since basically anime existed. Even stuff like Chobits and Ah! My Goddess is pretty much "Oops, I accidentally own a wife now in a world where everyone owns their wives." We've been through at least three or four different trends of it, maids, magical girlfriends, hot spring inn ownership, etc. Isekai's 'twist' on it is, like everything godawful isekai does, is to make everything overtly explicit. Same as reducing all the displays or competence or courage to looking at status screens and giving the protagonist the biggest numbers. There's no wink or nod about some magical contract or obligation or gratitude. They are explicitly slaves, because it's a misogynist fantasy about owning women and humiliating lesser men.
Overlord is misery porn. There is also definitely slavery iirc? I've given up on the series and haven't watched the latest season, since last season was way too much with:
I'm super into chainsawman lately!
Also Overlord is a bunch of good fantasy stories grafted to the shittiest most awful most boring cast of characters who consistently ruin said good fantasy stories. It's a shame.
The demon with scary shiny glasses:
They're not just regular slaves, I believe he skins them to make parchment and uses magic to heal them. Nightmare shit.
anyway, I am one of those fools who thought Overlord might become more than what it is and ended up watching most of it
I've thought it was too busy since I started reading it in Skypeia!
Thinking of something like Nagatoro, where it really seemed like it was someone's very specific sort of fetish anime and instead it's a pretty whole some rom com.
Isekai Uncle was that for me when I first started reading it with hesitation and now it's one of my favorites for how chill everything is
Birdie Wing
But I have to confine it to one problematic trope at a time because *gestures at anime broadly*
Also it's not like Ainz maliciously edited NPC lady (Albedo). He thought she was a non-sentient NPC at the time and was just goofing off in the final moments before everything got deleted anyway.
Two of my favorite shows from last year were shows I had already decided to pass on, until my friend wanted to give them a try.
The first, Muteking, is a genuinely delightful and wacky show that made me nostalgic for a time where I would just turn on Toonami and say, "what's with this weird cartoon?"
The other, Mieruko-chan, is not something I can wholeheartedly recommend since it loses steam as it goes on, yet remains moderately horny throughout. But I was very interested to see what happens to the girl who sees ghosts.
I'll admit that I initially skipped Overlord partially because I assumed that this was going to be a major recurring thing, but surprisingly it's not. When it does come up it's more along the lines of Albedo being frustrated that Ains has zero interest in her due to his undead nature.
