This looks pretty good animated.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Holy shit they didn't went for bad CGI for this. Now is officially dope.
Sure. Let's do this thing.
Saw elsewhere that it's getting to the point where you can't spoiler this series to people, because they flat out won't believe the number of crazy left turns it takes. I think I agree.
you do it mob
That should keep us busy for the next eight months or so, barring any scheduling problems. So, nine months at least!
If you want to join in on the Saturday fun with subtitles, just shoot me a PM here or through the PA Discord server. Also on Mondays we're almost finished with our first set of shows, meaning we're about to begin Zombie Land Saga and The Big O in just a few weeks!
A certain someone has been pushing Vivy ever since it finished airing, same thing for Kongming basically. Might as well give them a shot!
The more the merrier for these groupwatches. Also helps keep the suggestions fresh, otherwise I'm left to my own devices and try to schedule 70s tokusatsu shows...
It was my first Rider show bizarrely enough, since it was airing right as I got into it and was reading up, watching clips and buying the toys. I'm definitely going to be ready with explanations if people need them, like with Akibaranger. But we got through that alright, so I think this will go fairly well.
We're also considering watching Geats once it starts up, although I guess we'll have to be a week behind.
Girl in Twilight is one I don't remember seeing discussed 'round these parts much. Like Starlight, it was made to advertise some shitty gacha and has a pretty weird progression throughout. I wouldn't be surprised if you guys bailed on it after 3-4 episodes. There are certainly interesting things about it, but it takes a bit to figure out what it's trying to do, and then the last few episodes are... uh... yeah. They certainly are.
Ga-Rei Zero will be interesting to see initial impressions of, though honestly, I barely remember any of the middle and always just watch the first and last episodes to remind myself why I like it. Absolute banger of an OP, though it doesn't get to it until the fourth episode.
I know I posted about not liking Revue Starlight at first, it took a while to win me over. I think it's very good as a complete package though.
I think someone here recommended Ga-Rei-Zero and also said not to look anything up about it, so almost all of us are going in totally blind as far as I know.
now there's a show i really liked long enough ago and remember juuuust enough of that i'm like "let's never revisit this to doublecheck, maybe"
some extremely fun weapon design though
So do the bad guys always just wait for them to finish that entire sequence?
Honestly they should probably bring a pack of cards and a small folding table and chair.
It's basically identical to "GASP I will now explain with a long monologue the incredible thing happening in real time in front of me even though I could not possibly have time to even think about it let alone say it but that's ok because physics will wait"
then they would punch me and i would, i assume, explode
Ah, so you're one episode away from the revenge of the NUNS.
makes the shouting move names thing make sense
It's verbalised pop-up UI help text.
Plus once the lightshow starts you don't really want to get in the middle of that. For all you know, that could laser your hand off, or fuse your arm to their helmet, or who knows how all that matter-transfer works!
I certainly don't have a degree in the morphing grid, and I'm not about to poke the person who is harnessing it to transform into a literal ass-kicking machine.
I would hope that I would retain enough control to not stop their transformation sequence, but try to mess with it as much as possible (take a selfie with them in mid pose, scribble on their armor with a marker, give them bunny ears while they're in the t-pose for that aforementioned selfie, etc). At least then I'll get to yuk it up while they explode me with punches.

Also, there are times when the sequence blocks attacks trying to interrupt it.
There's a warning for a reason!!!!
Hmmm...I've had this thought before, yes. Since we've done Madoka and Thunderbolt. It's mostly the 52 episode length that stopped me. Akibaranger was the first test, at a normal season length. Then Cutie Honey is the same length as both seasons of that, and Decade is the shortest actual Rider show. If people like those and Geats works out, maybe we'll transition into more full tokusatsu seasons!
A decent amount of why isn't urobuchi's fault
Ah yes the Deadpool approach.
If you do interrupt it, you get run over by a train.

I pretend I do not see it (the many problems with the haha funny fruit man season)
one of the (many) cool things about gaogaigar's sequence is the big whirlpool it spits out to protect itself during the transformation
Thaaaat gives a bit more context to this then. I already found it funny but learning it's actually lampshading an entire genre of shows is even better.
I don't remember anything all that objectionable. A few baths and such, but nothing out of the ordinary or even pushing it for anime. It did run very afoul of the censors repeatedly, but that was more for violence, and even that was more because of its particular broadcast channel. Is that a sword stabbing into someone underneath that hazy green cloud? Well, it's censored, so nobody will ever know!
Sounds like something I'd do. I wish the original pre-air promo stuff was still around, but alas, it's lost to time. You can still find bits and pieces here and there, which is amusing in retrospect.
Genuine episode #01 (yes, the first) spoilers
By the time you reach episode 3
Iron Mouse doesn't in Sailor Stars! Straight up leaves during Sailor Moon's speech.
