Honestly, well chainsaw man I sort of bounced off it the first few times I tried to read it. But when everything gets rolling and the wheels start to come off the Chainsaw bus it's an excellent read with a sympathetic protagonist doing his best, and some gorgeous and eerie imagery - the Darkness Devil sequence is often cited was a highlight for very good reasons!

I've literally been trying to read the first volume for the past year and it's constantly sold out after frequent restocks in every store here(in SoFla, otaku central).
On December 14, 2020, it was announced that the manga will receive an anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA.[58][59] It had a stage presentation at the Jump Festa '21, as part of the Jump Studio series of stage presentations that were held online on December 19–20, 2020.[60][61] The first trailer for the anime series was shown at the "MAPPA Stage 2021 – 10th Anniversary" event, held on June 27, 2021.[62][63] The anime is directed by Ryū Nakayama (director) and Makoto Nakazono (chief episode director), with scripts by Hiroshi Seko, character designs by Kazutaka Sugiyama, and devil designs by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. Tatsuya Yoshihara is serving as action director and Yūsuke Takeda is directing the art. Naomi Nakano is the color key artist and Yohei Miyahara is designing the screens. The music is composed by Kensuke Ushio.[64][65][66] The series is set to premiere in October 2022 on TV Tokyo and other networks.[5][67] Crunchyroll has licensed the series outside of Asia and will be releasing it along with an English dub.[68] Medialink licensed the series in Asia-Pacific.[69]
Only issue is you are limited to 100 chapters s day, but you have to be really binging to hit that

Appreciated, but I don't read digital apart from the super rare exception that it's never localized and never will be.
I ordered the full set of Chainsaw Man during the Right Stuf anniversary sale back in July and they only got it all back in stock and shipped to me last week.
On the inside of the front cover of Vol 1:
First Printing, October 2020
Ninth Printing, February 2022
My Vol's 2 and 3 are both on their eighth printing
It's certainly in high demand

As someone who just read the first three volumes, it's not life-changing or revelatory if you aren't like, in middle school still and haven't had a wide exposure to things, but it's a pretty good One Of Those Stories, that being a shonen battle manga with a dumbass protagonist.

Nah, you can't read three volumes and then give a synopsis like this. It goes to some WILD places. I think the show will be a BIG deal for a lot of people.
I think the last half or third is where it's actually good. The first half was fine but i dropped it for a while.
absolutely just my brand of bullshit
The narration on that page
also shows two people in a non-romantic intimate relationship with about 3 braincells
Reading will be better to get me to sleep than playing video games or watching TV, I says to myself

It makes perfect sense when you think about it.
The chapters were frequently 40-50 pages long, but I when starting the final volume last night I thought I'd just read the first chapter in the volume and then go to bed.
I opened the volume and got to the table of contents...only two chapters were listed. The 200 page final chapter, and then 60 page epilogue. So I just went ahead and read the whole thing (who needs sleep?).
It's crazy how different the manga is from the anime (after the beginning, at least). The author even has comments at the end of several volumes implying that he's rather unhappy about the anime's focus on being a perverted moe harem romcom.
The art also drastically improved over the course of the series. Which can be a double-edged sword when it gets into the body horror and gore.
One complaint of the final arc is...
In the previous arc, she tries to sacrifice herself to defeat Aqua, but is shown to have been rescued by her grandfather so she can be put back together. But she never does anything for the rest of the manga. That wouldn't be too bad if she was said to be at home recovering, but she was specifically shown on the airship heading to the final battle. But when the airship arrived, she wasn't there. It wasn't until the very end that she was shown again in a group shot, having presumably been fighting offscreen the whole time.
Honestly, I think the author forgot about her during the fight.
What a blast from the past. Yeah it has some serious genre shift as the manga goes on. The art leveling up was kind of in tandem with the genre shift.
Please ignore the empty whiskey bottle.... it was mostly empty already

Zombieland Saga is fucking good!
So which volume did you end on?
Those two episodes are all I've seen before, so I'm excited to see where it goes, even though I've absorbed a few spoilers.
I finished Volume 8.

So then:
Zombieland saga thoughts I have
These are pretty much my feelings too. The first couple episodes felt like it was going to be genuinely creative and subversive towards idols/the idol industry, and then it was just... almost entirely tonguebathing the entire idol industry like every other goddamned idol show from there out with a minor peppering of weirdness, but the gimmick mostly left behind aside from a token gag in some episodes.
