So for my, personal, vote? Worth the hype.
YMMV of course, we are all different. There's nothing wrong with someone saying for them it really is that good though. That can't be taken away from me.
I haven't seen it recently enough to know if it would be okay to watch standalone (ie. can't remember if it would establish the characters enough) but it was one of my favorite episodes when we watched it on Animenagerie S.
That poor cow sculpture...
I know not everything lands with everyone the same way, but I figure the more people exposed to CSM, the more likely at least a few people will get as much out of it as I have.
Last couple episode spoilers:
the thing with Chainsaw Man is that Fujimoto just straight up does not explain some things
like there's this guy that shows up in the third arc and does some cool stuff and then just disappears. now he's shown up again in Part 2 and he's being kind of mysterious and we're not a hundred percent sure what his deal is.
also we still don't know what exactly the deal is with Knife Girl.
I agree, Chainsaw Man WOULD be better if Speedwagon was there.
Outside the English-speaking world, the sheer amount of content that TV stations and movie distribuitors have to dub (as a minimal example, just think on how many man-hours it would take to dub the entire MCU) means that only the big media networks working alongside with actor unions could even hope to tackle said projects. Of course, most actors aren't exactly well paid, but is far better than what people dubbing on the US get.
I think it ended on a good note,
For an obvious example, super Saiyan is never really explained until sometime a few years ago and then really stupidly even though it's been around since '91.
Dang I just remembered Goku was a total jerk until he got literal brain damage that changes his personality. Destiny!
Big midichlorian energy that time.
Huh, Lycoris Recoil is getting a sequel
That was fast
Edit: I guess it does say "new production" so possibly an OVA or movie and not a second season
So that would be pretty much it.
This is their last chance to not screw it up, but given how badly they screwed up S, I'm not optimistic.
It's even clear from how the series is marketed that the show didn't do that well, all the merch I see is using the original series.
Steam
Turns out that almost everything good you remember about the old anime wasn't in the manga, and the new anime is very faithful to the manga. Also, lots of very bad CG.
