In the original VN there are frequently scenes that take place during mealtime. So lots of time devoted to cooking, and how the food tastes and someone going "Oh sempai, this tea you made warms my heart yada yada"
Yes
Really I'd say everything not related to the MC is fairly cool. Hell even the MC when not being used as a godlike figure is at least interesting conceptually.
It kind of falls apart... Well no I guess it comes together in a very unfortunate way. I can't even really say the story is badly written because it's fairly competent. Its just such a power fantasy wank that if you aren't in to that it's pretty insufferable. Also unlike Misfit, irregular takes itself seriously.
Anos is a way better power fantasy than Tatsuya.
The power doesn't even really belong to Touma himself, it's contained entirely in one hand. So if that hand doesn't touch something to negate it then the rest of Touma is just as vulnerable as everybody else to all those things.
The author has done some interesting things with Touma's memory loss, since he has several memory gaps with different causes for his various instances of brain damage.
The worst part of Index is the titular character, who the author has never done anything interesting with and who has a terrible personality to boot.
The most interesting parts of Index usually revolve around Misaka. Her spinoff flirts with being actually good from time to time.
I don't wanna like Ketil and Olmar, but I do really like Ketil and Olmar. If they didn't live in such a fucked up time period they would be really endearing.
the anime lacks a lot of the more complex and insane facial expressions and cuts out a lot of details from the manga
they cheaped out on details despite clearly spending a lot on animation
it's just a wildly inconsistent experience
Man what even is this.

What if a person who could punch good was a global threat on par with nuclear weapons, and no there still isn't magic involved

I prefer Kengan Ashura though, it's not quite as OTT and the motivation is a little more fun, to the point that I could really believe it happens
-Bofuri S2: It... became Digimon. I honestly do not much care for it at this point. It's not terrible, but it's pointless and doesn't have anything to recommend it anymore. There are occasionally some amusing situations and the visuals are decent, but the creativity from the start is mostly gone and the results seem like foregone conclusions at this point. I won't drop it because it's very close to the end, but if I had known how the season would go, I wouldn't have followed it this time.
-Trigun Stampede: Improving, I think, but still not a super impressive successor series. Mainly, the characters are just nothing in this version. The first version was extremely philosophical AND very realistic in terms of like... critiquing the success rate of no kill superhero behavior. Stampede gestures towards these themes in dialogue fairly often, but hasn't built the specific scenarios or confrontations to bring out the drama. Vash has not ONCE made a convincing argument or approached a situation with a competent plan of action. He seems much younger and more foolish, despite his true age and background being frontloaded this time. As I posted about last time, I do think it's quite pretty looking and I like the dub VA and the music quite a bit.
A specific complaint from the flashback arc
-Gundam WFM: I need to go back and finish season one...
-Psycho Pass S1: Very slowly paced, but it's developing the world situation and case very well so far. I hear basically every sequel season and movie is not worth it, so probably I'll move on to something else once this one is done.
I enjoy trump and obamas cameos.
I don't know about a power that ultimately comes down to "perfect mindgames" being worthless in a setting about fighting one on one....but it at least makes the point that he can do that because of how much hard work he's put in to train to that level.
the kung fu dude gives himself a heart attack when he's about to lose in order to not lose the match since he technically died without being killed
he just kinda starts his heart again later
Don't rule out covid delaying it.
Four shows this season didn't make it past episode 8 due to it.
Weren't most of those Mappa shows as well?
Nah. Mappa's shows this season were Vinland and Campfire Cooking.
Kubo (Pine Jam), died on episode 6.
Nier (A-1), died on episode 4, and then again on 8
Ayakashi Triangle (Connect), died on episode 4, and then again on 6
Misfit of Demon Academy (Silver Link), died on episode 6
Connect and Silver Link are essentially the same studio, so it makes sense if one had issues, all their shows would, but no other connections. Just still handling covid very poorly.
