So Shanks has some extremely powerful Observation Haki and uses the same technique that Rogers once employed to single-strike Oden. Guess this explains why even the likes of Big Mom and Kaido didn't want to take him on, he's basically an Emperor above the Emperors.

The biggest reveal of the chapter
Was that Shanks and his crew are Emperor's entirely because of the strength of Shanks' crew.

Big Mom, Kaido, and Luffy all have an extensive army at their beck and call that is no slouch. Including some headliners that are real heavy hitters.

But Shanks and his crew are so strong on their own they Justify the label of Yonko.

Makes a lot more sense why his boat and crew alone showing up was enough to end the battle at Marineford.

    that's been assumed forever though

Huh maybe Ginka and Gluna isn't canceled, it sure seemed like it was skipping to the last boss in a canceled sort of way the last couple weeks but now the fight's over and we're indulging in a flashback to Ginka's childhood?

I've been catching up on the Saving Gold anime, and it's a good junk food quality show. Nothing really offensive here so far like plenty of other isekai. Just a very comfy, cheap little budget show. The dub is pretty entertaining, as the MC is really having fun hamming it up. If you want to see an isekai protagonist just having a good time meeting nice people while all the bad guys are clearly labelled and casually thwarted, it's a nice, smooth 7/10 experience.

Yeah Im not sure whats going on now I fully expected this to be a last chapter

It is an amazing set up as a prologue though.

I was wrong with my guess about Ginka’s origin in my post a couple weeks back, but seems like
he and his sister had been influenced by a piece of the Verokian moon striking their mother before they were born, which is probably why Magaroka took an interest in him to start (was he always planning the body jack?)

My guess for now is what I figured earlier:
Magaroka’s got a significant portion of Ginka’s body, but all those stripes around it are literal missing chunks (the first chapter he was revived in you can see the way they’re carved out negative spaces better). So I’m going to guess if it’s not being canned it’s going to be a race to recover the missing pieces of Ginka’s body before Magaroka can

Definitely kind of feels like they’re doing a big course correction to draw in readers by massively upping the stakes and trying to focus on the main plot instead of what seemed like more episodic adventures.

One Piece Film Red and manga spoilers.
Kizaru makes a habit of being threatened by the Red Hair pirates.

Not the only admiral, though. Shanks holding one "at gunpoint" at Wano wasn't even close enough to see him.

Both Mononogatari and High Card ended today with announcements of season 2, which I guess is okay because neither had anything even vaguely approaching an ending, and they were... watchable, but man, were they the epitome of inoffensively mediocre.

I wonder how much authors get paid when their web novels get adapted into anime.

Cause it seems like a pretty easy gig. I could come up with an Isekai in like five minutes.

    For instance:
There's a lonely otaku who's like 28 (fucking ancient by anime standards). He gets hit by a truck while saving a baby or something, who cares.

He wakes up in a world of sword and sorcery in a new body as - get this - A DRAGON! (This aint your grandpa's Isekai, kids)

And using his dragon magic he can transform into a human so he doesn't have to deal with any of the inconveniences that might be associated with being a dragon.

Also he's super OP because he's a dragon and also all the hot ladies love him.

Nobody steal this idea it's mine I'm gonna make THOUSANDS.

There already is an isekai about turning i to a dragon.
He doesnt get to turn into a human though so far he turns into more and more dangerous variants of dragon, until at one point he's literally just toxic to all life close enough to him. Unsurprisingly all the ladies dont love him, but he's doing ok all things considering.

Also unsurprisingly its actually pretty good.

Does this have a name? Also, is it novel/manga/anime?
    (It does infact sound good).

Finally got around to watching Redline -- it's pretty impressive how it starts off with the dial at 9.5, turns it up to 10 basically immediately, then the dial seems to fall off for a bit while they're doing backstory, but once they get it put back together I guess the dial breaks and won't turn down any more so they just have to keep on turning the dial up until the end?

    also, re: the ending
I appreciate how once they're done with the story, They Are Done and do not waste a single extra frame of animation on winding things down slowly or anything, it just Is Over Now We Roll The Credits.

Yeah, I'm working on a sub of a musical, and it's considered polite to not widely distribute it, since these troupes are usually very small and depend on sales of their releases to keep afloat.

Thanks! I'm gonna check it out as quickly as I can.
And isekai and level systems and such is just window dressing, it can get tedious since it is in everything these days but at the end of the day it won't hurt a good script and it won't save a bad one.

And Shueisha is doing its level best to try to kill their golden goose via karoshi:
The legendary author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, has revealed his struggles with sleep deprivation and the resulting health issues.

A post from the Facebook group, Daily Dose of Anime, delivered an update on the health of One Piece’s creator. The post stated that the iconic artist has an ongoing sleep deprivation problem, only sleeping three hours daily. It further clarified that his routine sees him go to bed at 9 am and wake at noon. The report also discussed the sleep schedule of his assistants, marking it as 5 am to noon.

I remember a few years ago Oda talked about his work schedule and at the time he was waking up at 5am and basically working straight through until he went to bed at 2am.

Taking a week off a month isn't enough to stop the incredible damage that sort of work schedule creates, the manga industry literally kills people.
